This has me so stoked (from an article on Celtics.com):
Garnett is Looking Explosive
Possibly the brightest sign from camp is that Kevin Garnett is back to his old self. Not that KG wasn’t a game-changer last season, which was his first since having bone spurs removed from his right knee in May of 2009, but he is clearly on another level in comparison to the Garnett of 2009-10.
“Today he was, at one point, unguardable. We were laughing with him today – if we had that post game that he gave us today all year last year, we would have been just a remarkable basketball team. But that’s where you can see it’s finally – the confidence part; last year I don’t think he ever had the confidence to go [post up], we didn’t go to the post to him much anymore because he just didn’t like it down there. This year he wants it down there, and he’s being effective.”
Effective to the point where, in practice, Rivers nearly made an adjustment that he would have surely been forced to make if he was coaching against Garnett in a game.
“We thought about trapping him today, which we never do,” he said. “But it just got to a point today that, if he can have a game like he did today, we’re going to be really good.”
Bring on the rest of the league.
