Looks like Yao tweaked his ankle a bit in practice. Those stormy winds we had last night were the result of Houston fans collectively sighing  :P

Yao Ming turned an ankle during Wednesday's practice, but it was not a source of concern.

The incident was with his right ankle, not on the surgically repaired left side.

"It's not bad," Yao said. "I'll be back tomorrow. It happens. I step on people's foot."

Indeedproceed with the cat call!! Haha but ya I agree. I'm rootin for the big fella as well. He seems like a good cat that does a lot of charity especially back home in China. And on the floor he can at times dominate but always seems humble and none demonstrative. Go Yao.

I think most people are rooting for Yao.  It would have been devastating if this was anyting serious.

yep, i'm rooting for Yao. You just hate it when a player in his prime has to end his career because of injury, regardless of team.

I can't stand the fact that if Yao or Oden were serviceable over the last few years, they would've given LA much trouble.

Yao earned my respect in his battles with Shaq, but even moreso here:

Portland is def right there in the mix in the West with Oden healthy, but I don't think they could have dethroned LA anyway. Dude sure has had some bad luck though  :-\

I'm pretty skeptical of both Yao and Oden being fully healthy this year, but I'm hopeful.  I'd love to see the Rockets in particular do well.
