With all the hype surrounding Shaq, I just thought I would throw it out there just to stir things up; however, I do think that Jermaine ONeal will have a big impact particularly during the regular season. Remains to be seen if he will continue with his famous disappearing act in the playoffs (lets hope he has grown out of it). He is a solid big who is versatile and will thrive with Rondo and KG to set him up. We will be unstoppable in the paint!

Until Perk comes back, yeah, I think Jermaine offers more.

After that point though, I think it's fairly equal between the two. Shaq being the more dynamic game changer of the two.

Never liked JO, but seems to have gotten a bum rap. Thoughtful guy with a good all around game - never seemed to have that fire. Between KG, Nate & BBD there should be plenty to feed the flames now. Really hope he comes alive here.

Also glad to hear Shaq talking about coming off the bench. Really think KG and JO is the better combination to open up things for Rondo, PP and KG to operate.

That would be great for the C's if JO turns out to be the most important addition.  For one, it would mean he stays fairly healthy.

Maybe JO will put up some decent numbers in the regular season, but my money is on Shaq to be more effective and far more reliable than JO, especially in clutch situations such as fourth quarters and playoff games.

It’s kind of upsetting how much J.O. is flying under the radar.

JO, Shaq and Delonte are all key additions/acquisitions to this team. Reliability and dependability are just words equated to these guys. Von Wafer, not yet. I would rather that we get Rashad McCants over him or both of them if possible. McCants offers what the first three guys abovementioned could bring but he also offers versatility which Von Wafer, Quisy and even our "lost" boy Tony Allen couldn't.

JO could be fantastic if he embraces Perk's role.  He's shown the ability to block shots and rebound at similar levels in the recent past, he's got a touch more mobility, and he's got the tools to be a much better offensive role player.  If he's willing to forgo post-ups outside of mismatch situations and look for touches of pick and rolls and dump-offs for little baseline Js, he could do wonders for our offense.

2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

McCants offers versatility which Von Wafer, Marquis and TA don't? How so?

It will be interesting to see them play together.  I like JO's ability to help protect the paint when Shaq gets pulled out on pick and rolls, but I've never seen him play with a post-up option on offense.

He can be a go-to guy (which he had shown numerous times), handles the ball much better than them and shoots the ball afar with much more accuracy than any of them. Plus, he's aggressive and decisive. Defends well too like TA and Quisy.

I am much happier with Jermaine O'Neal now that Shaquille O'Neal is on board.

A hugely imposing frontcourt full of options that they can turn to when someone isn't doing what they are supposed to or doesn't match up well with a specific team.

It's going to be a lot of fun to watch those guys play together when Perk comes back.

Good Point. Once Perk comes back BBD may be loosing minutes at PF to JO. Perk and JO is an interesting prospect. Bynum and Gasol watch out.

I can't say whether JO is the most important addition to the team, but he is one of the most important. I'm glad to have him onboard.

He'll add much to this team like what's already been discussed in the thread.

I really believe that he will help us this year and beyond, and I'm looking forward to seeing how he plays next to KG. JO has never played with a PF like KG before.

Kevin Garnett is the X-Factor in all of this - KG will make JO (and Shaq) better just by his presence.

It's a great feeling to be this deep length-wise, and once we get Perk back that will be the icing on the cake right there.

Absolutely.  If JO Perk Shaq and KG are healthy at the same time (knock on wood)  BBD will be a cheer leader.  But this is actually a good thing.  BBD will have an opportunity to practice not crying, and meanwhile the Celtics will have the most dominant front court in the NBA.  KG and Perk, with JO and Shaq off bench, if healthy all we need.

JO might be a big addition.  He might be the same as Sheed, though.
