Read on the beloved Hoopshype this morning that Chicago was looking to send JJ to Charlotte as he is no longer in the rotation. Too many players ahead of him on that team(Korver,Deng,Brewer,Bogans, and Scal(J/k))

Anyways, I'm sure Thib has some leeway over in the windy city for us to be able to land a nice true S/f. The Bulls rotation is in search of a backup PG, so give them Bradley

He's of no use to us with West, Wafer, Nate AND Quis.
Add in a 2nd rounder and I think it's money for us.

James Johnson, build wise and play style, reminds me alot of Pierce(Dont read too much into that. Just need a nice backup, not the next big thing)

He can hit the 3, long enough to defend and rebound, yes REBOUND, and could do great working with Pierce for a few years.
Can't stop, Rondo!

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
James Johnson has been god awful for the Bulls this season and last. The whole fan base wants him gone...I don't think we need him. I'd rather have Harangody.

I've only seen one period of extended play from J.Johnson this season and he was very good. Playing quality defense, blocking shots, creating turnovers and hammering the boards.

It was the Detroit game. As I look up his stats here; he had 9 boards, 4 assists, 3 blocks and two steals in only 18 minutes. He didn't look up to much offensively but made a nice pass here and there. I saw a small bit of the Portland game but only when the starters where in.

I wouldn't make too much of that one game ... but it was encouraging to see him knuckle down defensively and on the boards for a change (a major liability most of last season). Interesting to see if that focus and effort continues.

I wouldn't go as far to say he has been "god awful".  He's been inconsistent but he's shown some pretty solid flashes of brilliance.  I say "brilliance" in a "solid bench player" sense, not a "one day he'll be an all-star" sense.  He's not a bad player by any means, IMO.

I thought he finally turned the corner. I guess not. What the Bulls need is a Re-do that Kirk Hinrich and 1st round trade to the Wizards. Kirk+1st rounder for whom you ask, NOBODY. They didn't even receive a thank you note for their generosity. Major Failure.

James Johnson is a legit SF only in the D-league.  He is a bad NBA player.

I thought this trade gave them the ability to go after Wade/LeBron?  Obviously they ended up with Boozer, but if they did not make that trade I didn't think they would have had a chance to sign the big guys.
do it

That, that was exactly what that trade was.  They ended up with Brewer and Korver with that extra cap space.

So, the question is, is Hinrich and the first round pick worth more than Korver and Brewer?

If they're as good as they should be with Boozer and the pick is in the low to mid twenties I think they did well for themselves.

Kind of a moot point since you don't know that ahead of time.

Hinrich wasn't trade for Lebron or Wade. He was traded for a chance to get them.
