With Scal's Bird-Rights, couldn't Danny "Keith Van Horn" him to Denver with a 1st rounder and bring in JR Smith?

Not to say I'm huge on JR Smith but I'm pretty sure this can be done.

We can sign-and-trade Scal, but there are two considerations:

1.  Scal's deal would have to be fully guaranteed for at least one season, for a player Denver probably wouldn't have much interest in; and

2. If we gave Scal more than a 20% raise, he would become a "base year compensation" player, making his contract very difficult to trade.

But yes, theoretically, we could package Scal in a sign-and-trade.

I see, so we should be thinking more along the lines of a $4 million dollar player with 2 years on his contract left and a team looking to shed payroll then.

Maybe this is how Danny is planning on filling that last roster spot.

Was Scal ever a Celtics trade asset?

Considering we couldnt trade him for five years I would say he never was, still isnt, and never will be.

What would we could possibly get for him? Some team looking to dump salary like the New Orleans Hornets?

I think he is more of a coaching asset than a trade asset.

He needs a desk job or something.

Scal isn't a Celtic trade asset he is a Celtic asset!

I say keep him. I live vicariously through him. I'm an overweight redheaded guy that can't play. You guys are killing me and crushing my dreams all at the same time! lol
