Funny how the guy thinks Shaq's addition to the Celtics will end up "ringless". I guess we will see...

I'm willing to bet that, in July 2011, we will not be able to credit Shaq with our ring or discredit him for not getting one.  He's now just a good piece in particular situations for low to medium minutes.  I can't really see why Lakers fans would have an opinion.  Plus, he's played with THREE other teams since he left them before joining our ranks.

Who gives a rat arse about Laker fans or their opinions.  They are the most fair weather fans out there.   Where is a richter scale when you need one?

That is true we were mediocre but I think one year when we had a young #8 and #34 we swept the 2 games we played them.  It might have been that same year we had that big comeback against NJ when Paul went Bananas.

I remember TD being overtaken by Laker fans a couple of years ago screaming "MVP" for Kobe. I know those were Laker fans, but the fact that there weren't enough passionate Celtic fans there in the lean years to shout them down speaks to the fact that the C's have plenty of bandwagon fans of their own. I've never understood why people think that fairweather fans are unique to the particular teams. They're not. As a general rule, people are a lot more supportive of their team when they're winning.

As for Shaq, I don't have any ill will with him signing with the Celtics. I don't expect a guy who was born in Jersey, grew up in San Antonio, was drafted by Orlando, played in LA, Miami, Phoenix, & Cleveland to have some sort of allegiance to Los Angeles.

I bet allot of those Kobe MVP chants were from impressionable youngsters that were at the game on a date or a social event with friends. Most of your devoted fans aren't gonna pay out big bucks to go see a 24 win team live when they can see it at home for free on television.

In other words, none of us here on the blog was there chanting MVP for Kobe.

As for Shaq, I'm excited we got him. Ours style of play will be more along his lines than that of Phoenix or Cleveland and he will make a difference I do believe. It will be really surreal to see him take the court in a Celtics jersey. Just the novelty of it makes it worthwhile to me. I was 13 when he was drafted, Gosh.

I think Doc is going to get plenty out of Shaq this year but he won't be the key to our title fortunes.  Our shot at a title will come down to KG's knee and maybe Rondo's mid-range shooting.

There were plenty of chances for us to win one more game in the finals but one of them was KG not being able to rebound the way we expect KG to rebound.  He didn't defend Gasol very well either (again, as compared to a KG standard).

The Shaq-Lakers thing will only be a story if they meet in the finals.  If they do, I am sure that Shaq will be talking and motivated.  It won't be like Johnny Damon but I think he will rankle the Laker fans and players just fine.
