After reading about the lack of progress in him getting a contract I started to think if I'd rather Xavier Henry or Rudy Fernandez. I don't believe we'd have the ability to acquire Henry, but in the spirits of the dog days of summer I've been thinking about it for a while. Personally, I'd take Fernandez.

Thoughts?

There is a big difference. Fernandez is someone who can contribute this year. Henry is an investment in our future.

I am thinking really short term at the moment with all our old guys. I'm all in for winning this year or next.

To a degree, that's how I came to my conclusion. I think I've seen enough good out of Fernandez at this level that I feel better about adding him to a contender.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
All things being equal (including the asking price for both players) I take Henry right now.

We'd have him at a rookie contract with all the perks that gives a team (significant perks.), and he's not going to book and just leave us hanging  at the end of the season.
