Here is a large list of players who are still out there, and short write-ups about each one.

The article/list was made July 30th,so its not exactly up-to-date,(shaq is listed on there)but its close enough and accurate enough IMO.

And also provides some names, you might not have thought of.

its from the website shamsports

stackhouse, udokah and Iverson. Those are some calls that should be made.

But the Iverson one would be really awkward.

Allen, Allen. Buddy. Tell me. How do you feel about being a SEVENTH option!  What about the NBA minimum? Hmmmm? Get a chance at a ring? Hmmmm?

Rodney Carney for the minimum. He can shoot the 3 and defend. He is 6'7 205 and young. I think he is worth the risk.

Then if we trade Sheed's deal for a player or players, cut either Quis, or Wafer.

Adding Iverson to any team guarantys that team will have no chance at a championship.

The only name that sticks out to me is Tracy McGrady.  He'd have to be healthy and accept backing up Pierce at the 3, and there's no sign that either would happen, but he'd be a good fit otherwise.

Im amazed by your hatred of Allen Iverson

I think that's the best option.  Whoever we sign has to be willing to accept close to 0 minutes.  Iverson/McGrady etc. would almost definitely not be willing to do that.

But if we are going to cut someone it had better not be Quis.  It would have to be Wafer or Carney.

I like both Quis and Wafer, but I'd prefer to play one of them at the 2 and have someone a bit bigger at the 3.  I don't think Wafer at the 2 and Quis at the 3 will pose any serious problems, but it'd be nice to have some decent size at every position.

It's not hatred.  It's factual.  Iverson has alienated every pro coach he's played for.  Tanked for 2 of his last three teams.  Couldn't behave well enough in Philly in his farewell tour to grace all of us with his presence on the court.

In short, he's a coach killer and a team killer and a grossly overrated talent.

Hopefully the Heat, Magic, or Lakers pick him up.

From the article:

Quote
Mark Blount - Last preseason, Minnesota encouraged Mark Blount and his representatives to seek a trade for him, since the Timberwolves didn't want him. They couldn't find one. Minnesota then encouraged Blount and his people to find someone who'd sign him in free agency, so that they could begin buyout talks. They couldn't find one of those either. Minnesota eventually waived Blount anyway, and he did not play a single minute last season. That should say something.

Serves him right for dogging it his whole career.
"If somebody would have told you when he was playing with the Knicks that Nate Robinson was going to change a big time game and he was going to do it mostly because of his defense, somebody would have got slapped."  Mark Jackson
