Yeah I'm a Cavs fan from east Cleveland posting on a Celtics board.  I just want to say I hope and pray you guys can slay this 3-headed monster that is Miami.  I hate the potential trend they may have started in the NBA and am relying on teams like you guys to keep the cHeat from reaching the finals.  I think Shaq will be a good fit for you guys, God knows the cHeat don't have anyone to play against him.

As for my team, I think we'll make the playoffs but realistically that's about it.  We missed out on the free agent pool putting our eggs in one basket, all the while "El BJ" has his mind made up all along.  I'm very bitter about the LeBenedict ordeal but not because he left, everyone in CLE felt that coming but hoped he would stay.  What p---es us off are many other aspects which I won't get into here unless you guys ask, no need for me to rant.

But mainly I'm rooting for you guys to beat Miami not out of my dislike of LeBron, but because I know your team has heart, something that doesn't exist in Miami.

Good luck, I'll be wearing my Cavs jersey but be very [dang] happy if you guys get to the finals again this year.

peace

Thanks on behalf of the CB Board,
I respect fans like you, fans that stick with their teams even through the hard times.
I am curious about what other aspects of the situation that you and other true Cavs fans are mad about.
Beleive me, us Celtic fans want to beat him down just as bad as you want him to see him beat down. With that said, how about handing us some of your best players for Sheeds contract? ;)

Thanks, it is good to hear the C's are getting some love around the league.

I have a feeling we are going to be hearing more and more of this throughout the season.  Lebron and company have somehow turned the Celtics, who were one of the most hated teams in the league by fans around the country into a fan favorite, because everyone outside of Miami wants to see the Heat knocked down a few pegs.  There are going to be some really interesting and fun dynamics this season, and I think Shaq is going to play a big role in building them up.

The only thing that would make a season like that any better is if the Celtics beat the Lakers on Christmas AND the Cavaliers lost to the Heat at home on Christmas as well.

I would be pleasantly suprised if the Cavaliers still managed to make the playoffs this season; I mean, I can't see them giving too many 'playoff' teams trouble now that LeBron is gone unless that team is the Miami Heat.

The East will definitely be interesting to watch this season.

I think the Christmas doubleheader has already been announced - Boston @ Orlando and Heat @ Lakers.....I'll watch the 1st game and head to the movie cinema for the 2nd game.

As far as the East goes - I am having a hard time picking Cleveland but I like their frontline of Hickson, Powe, Varejevo. Who is the new coach there? Jameson won't do much for you. Mo Williams is decent but overpaid. Yeah I can see Cleveland finishing 8th and get a possible pairing with Miami.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Thanks for the support, and good for you for sticking with your team. As a real fan myself, I supported this team when they were horrible and now I am reaping the benefits, but the idea of switching fandoms was never an option.

I think Orlando is going to take a step back this year and it's going to be a two team race in the East this year, which will lead to a lot of "God I hate both teams" or a lot of people rooting for the C's. Love em or hate em, the Celtics are the last hope of stopping Miami in the East.

interesting. any basis? or are you going by gut feel? just curious. Coz i think the Magic are still quite legit. They still potentially have another move to do in the off-season and that's move Brandon Bass. Or maybe they'll actually play him this time around. Either way, i think they're still quite a strong team which can potentially knock off Wade's Heat.

@ EJ: Even the Indians fans didn't like the fact a moron went to the game wearing a james Heat jersey....and he only had bleacher seats where the drunks a re most belligerent.

For the james decision to have been a better move, he could have informed the team of his intention earlier. It would have given them a chance for the top free agents.

Well, I guess that's what happens when you have amateurs for advisers.

He probably didn't want Cleveland to have a chance of landing any top flight free agents. He wanted them for himself.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

As a Celtics fan living in Cleveland, I've endured the Cavs hubris for the past few years (this past season was particularly sweet, for obvious reasons).

Regardless, your sentiments echo those of most of my Cleveland friends. If you're ever in the Coventry area, stop in by the grogshop; I'm there most of the time in my Celtics hat. I'll buy you a beer!

I still think the majority of fans (and opposing teams) will hate the Celtics next season. They're not getting any less cocky or talky.

i appreciate you rooting for the Celts, but the Cavs will be lucky to win twenty games.
