That's great.  It's certainly a good thing.  But we shouldn't get carried away.  There were times when the likes of Joe Forte, Jerome Moiso, Marcus Banks, and Kedrick Brown absolutely dominated summer league play.  And that never translated at all into the NBA.

So I hope he does work out for us.  I just wouldn't get too excited yet.

I agree, but the exception would be that luke also "dominated" college ball - in the sense that he was a 20-10 guy. Moiso and Brown definitely didn't dominate college like that. Forte and Banks had good college numbers I think, but were totally different kind of players.
Luke probably has a higher basketball IQ than all of those guys put together, and he's had to because he's so un-athletic. A lot of times that means un-NBA, but you never know. 3 of the other 4 guys (except Forte) had great athelticism, which is why they were drafted so high, but all washed out.
Basically, it's hard to compare Luke to our other past summer league stars b/c he's a different kind of player. Overall, rather have a guy who does really good in summer league - at least he has a chance. I tend to think that if a guy can't do anything in summer league then he's got no shot whatsoever with the real stuff.

Forte won the ACC Player of the Year his sophomore year (his last) at UNC.  But yeh, that didn't translate so hot to the NBA.

Luke releases the ball very quickly.  Probably releases faster than 95% of the players in the NBA. Sometimes he shoots so quickly my mind thinks he's shooting, yet in reality the ball is already airborne. He doesn't get incredible elevation, but the shot is gone like magic. And, he's pretty accurate.

During the fall practices he'll probably look like an all star when players cheat off of him. (Paul Pierce beware.)
Doc will probably close his eyes and pretend he's not seeing it. That's what he did with Gomes.  Gomes had a great rookie camp and did well in even the most limited circumstances. Yet it wasn't until Perk got hurt that he let him play.  Luke shoots better than Gomes. Hopefully, this will catch Doc's attention. My only concern is Luke's defense against taller, athletic players.

Do you guys think that Doc and Danny view Gody as a wing or a big?

Luke did a lot of work this summer against SFs in his draft class. I think he could survive against alot of the league’s three guys.
