Point guard Carlos Arroyo, has told the Sun Sentinel that he is flying back from his native Puerto Rico to re-sign with the team, with the formalities expected to be addressed Thursday.

Arroyo is a solid reserve point guard, efficient and careful with the ball. So far filling out the Heat's bench has been fairly easy for Pat.

And Rondo (and CP3, D-Will, Steve Nash), are licking their chops right now.

The next official shoe to drop is Juwan Howard, right?  I think that will be the end of their reported free agent signings.

I believe the Heat depth chart now looks roughly like:

Chris Bosh/Udonis Haslem/Juwan Howard
Lebron James/James Jones
Zydrunas Ilguaskas/Joel Anthony/Jamaal Magliore/Dexter Pittman
Dwayne Wade/Mike Miller
Mario Chalmers/Carlos Arroyo

Early talk has Chalmers starting at the point, although I expect to see Wade and Miller paired in the backcourt more often than not.

Soft in the middle but that group could win the title next year.

Well, I love Food, and I must compare this "SuperHeat" team to a Doughnut. Krispy Creme, too - extremely attractive on the outside, but have absolutely no inside whatsoever. A Big Hole.

Chris is a big filler, but they still need something else there. And to me, it's not Z, Joel or Udonis.

Pretty sure they've already got Howard.  I think they're still looking for another guard/swingman.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

They will need a LOT of luck to get a title with this team. Z is too slow to play an uptempo game, Anthony at 6-9, 245 doesn't have the length, and Chalmers/Arroyo are below average.

If they play LeQuit as a Magic clone PG with Wade/Miller at guard and Bosh/Anthony as frontline, they should have some great moments - but in the playoffs, the inevitable slowing of pace will affect them, and it's hard to see them being able to defend adequately to get to the finals.

Any injuries and you can forget it - and I'm thinking LeQuit might be due for some negative karma for tanking vs the C's.

Soft in the middle and the bench but, you are correct they do have 2 of the best players in the league.  Should win.. that's a bit much could win... maybe. I would suspect it's much harder to win a Championship than most Bloggers realize although they will more likely win PER title.

If this is how this team looks going into the playoffs next season I think they are beatable.. they are going to win a lot of games, they are going to be elite, but they are going to have a lot of question marks -- can they play defense?  can they bang with the likes of perk/dhoward/bynum?  can wade and lebron learn to play with each other and if so, find ways to complement one another?  as good as they will be i think they'd be in for a rude awakening against the C's or lakers...
