Turkoglu and Belinelli for Rasheed and Davis. This trade helps Toronto dump Turk's contract and gives us a young backup at the 2 with Belinelli. Anyone else think this can get done.

I think Turkoglu's contract would be the deal breaker there, but we do get a backup 3/4 in Turk and a young 2. I just don't know what the motivation for Toronto is, other than dumping Turk's contract?

Turk's not happy in Toronto, poor year, bad contract for Toronto.Better suited for a backup role with a playoff bound team. Gives them cap space to go after another big man and/or small Fwd. who needs big money and keeps Toronto under cap.

Wouldn't touch that Turk contract with a 1,000 foot pole.

Nobody's trading for Turkoglu and his contract even if he was going to start for them.  Danny sure as hell isn't going to trade for that contract for him to be a backup.

Danny got guys to sacrifice some hard dollars.  Ray Allen could have easily gotten a three year contract, probably for at least $30M, from the Knicks or the Bulls.  Danny's worked hard to keep the roster clean of bad contracts, to give the team plenty of flexibility to rebuild around Rondo in 2012, to have expiring deals and maybe some cap space.

Why would you sacrifice all of that to bring on Turk?  That's completely counter to what Danny's been doing for YEARS.

I could see Orlando offering Vince Carter for Turkoglu.

Carter probably is a positive for PR in Toronto, while the Magic were much better with Turkoglu.

Uh, you know the Peace Bridge, up by Buffalo?  Connects the US and Canada, it's how you get up to Toronto.

Pretty sure Vince Carter burned that Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.er down on his way out of town.

Besides, taken a look at Orlando's salary structure lately?  They probably have more dollars committed that anybody, and it'll be worse when they match the Reddick offer sheet.  If anything, they'll be looking to alleviate some of those salary pressures, not dumping players just to dump players but probably trading guys like Gortat and trying to get cheaper assets in return.

Positive PR is probably an oversell.  There are people in Toronto that hate Vince Carter, but at the same time ... Turkoglu is looked at very negatively.

I could see them use their trade exception and Turkoglu to get Carter (which keeps them below the luxury tax).

Sounds pretty ridiculous to me.

As for the OP, trading for Turk would be a desperation move and an ineffective one at that.

SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari

We do this and who becomes our backup Powerforward? I would love Turk off the bench but i highly doubt they would be looking for a salary dump trade after acquiring a 14.5 million dollar trade exception from Miami.
