with the Miami super team forming, the Celtics should realize this is the end of the current window.  Find every FA veteran who wants a ring and convince them to come for minimum/small contracts (a la James Posey, Sam Cassell, PJ Brown, Michael Finley)

this would set up an epic veteran vs young stud ECF

imagine the c's roster with the big 3, Rajon, Shaq, Jermaine O'Neal, Mike Miller, Ben Wallace, Josh Howard, Big Baby, Luke Harrangody, Scalabrine, Bradley, Perk and Eddie House all coming together to beat Miami - that'd be a fun roster and would create an epic showdown

Shaq - Perk - JO
KG - Big Baby - Big Ben - Scal - Luke
PP - Mike Miller
Ray - Howard - House
Rajon - Bradley
When you love life, life loves you right back

If it's possible, I'm all in.  But I have a hard time believing we can convince that many people to take the minimum.

You can add AI and TMac to that list. They're the "old guys" that no one really seems to want now so it's possible they may settle for the minimum just to get the chance to play for a ring.

  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
I'd give it a shot, problem is a lot of these "old" guys, if signing for the veteran minimum, would rather go to Miami.

I was just thinking the same thing. There's big names trying to convince the same guys we would want for the min. I would still try to grab them though, just might be unsuccessful.
