Is there any chance Pierce would opt out of his contract, and then re-sign for less money? It could help out the cap situation alot
Yes. It's possible, but likely only if we then extend him for a few more years. Quite frankly, I'm not sure if that's the best idea for him or us. I'd like to see him around for next year and the year after, but nostalgia aside, I'm not sure if his contract is going to be good for us beyond that. Also, I'm not sure he's going to want to be part of the rebuilding effort.
