why do you guys care how the celtics spend a veterans minimum slot. It does not impact the salary cap. If the celtics feel he is a fine 5th big, and he is ok when only playing with injuries why not have him? How many teams even carry the full 15 players? If it was a matter of him taking someone else spot, maybe its an issue. However, show me the last team that was using the 15th spot for someone that had a ton of upside or really mattered. Or even show me the last time the celtics did it.

Scal's the man...I always love listening to his interviews on Toucher and Rich in the morning on my way to work. Funny guy, and a great locker room presence.

I have no problem with Scal at the end of the benchnext season. No offense but he's really an excellent fit there - great teammate and lockerroom guy, he's steady, doesn't make a lot of mistakes on the floor, can be trusted to come in and give solid minutes not matter how long it's been since the last time he played, he can be inserted as a starter and the team doesn't skip a beat. We're practically undefeated when he starts ;D With Perk out, we can use him against the perimeter 5s.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Good one.   ;D  I'd hasten to add that one Lamar Odom hopes he never gets locked up with Scal again; consider Scal to be Odom's ticking crocodile.

Don't forget how he bottled up Amar'e  ;D The indignity of being shut down  by Scal must be every PFs worst nightmare.

Any thoughts to bringing him back as a coach. He has a fine mind for the game and I believe coaching in his future. He has the sense of humor to stand up to the marginal referreeing and NBA politics in general.

It is the worst day in any Celtic members life. The way the whole thing went down has made me physically ill and not functioning too good.

When you get fellow adversaries apologizing to you about the travesty the Celtics went through you know something ain't right.

I really hope the team stays together and understands what went wrong and gives it another shot - Glories Encore.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

He also said, if that means resigning the legendary Scalabrine than that's what they have to do!

I think they keep him around... they got to fill out this roster.

he has to come back, i cant see him being a perfect fit anywhere else, he is what a Celtic is supposed to look like! Plus what bar would stay open for a Celtic in Los Angeles? only for Scal.  ;)

If Tony Gaffney shows anything this summer and it is between him and Scal for the 13th or 14th slot, Gaffney a million times.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
Scal needs to sign a one year deal with wherever Jason Kidd is.  Then he'll be set for his next FA contract in 2011 that nets him another $15 Mill...
