I don't know if Doc will be back next year. If we decide to go for one more run and get our current players back, I want him back. If we start rebuilding... it would be better for him to stay with his family.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank Doc for the great season and playoffs he had. He did a tremendous job of keeping this team together (his motto all year) and coached very well throughout the playoffs, and had signature moments like his "physical" timeout in game 2.

He was very emotional after the game, almost cried on the podium, and repeated how prouf he was of the team.

It's the first time I've ever seen (and from what I've read, the first time it ever happened) a coach getting an applause ovation from all the media after his postgame conference. Especially a losing coach.

Tells you how much respect Doc genuinely gets, and how classy he is as a person, and how good of a coach he is.

Thanks for everything Doc. Whatever happens, I just wish you the best for your future, whether it'd be with the Celtics or your family.
