I know for me, when I look back at this game that took place a few days ago...the first words that come to mind for me are "we had it...we had it in our sights and we let it slip away"

I know some people are now thinking "man, what a game...I'm still super proud of our guys"

And btw...maybe it's just me, maybe it's because we lost that game, but it's not even a full two days later that the game took place.  To me, the game already seems like it was forever ago.

After 2 days, my anger is replaced with frustration. I get frustrated when i think about all those fouls that were called in the 4th quarter. Another poster mentioned how in each quarter of that game, each team scored points in the teens, but in the 4th quarter L.A scored like 30 points. That is very troubling, and i can't stop thinking about it. We would have had the title if it weren't for the parade to the free throw line in the fourth quarter.

Seeing as I live in LA, I can look forward to having to relive the experience anytime I see one of my Lakers buddies. So you can understand if I can't let this go and probably will never be able to.

I mean, this is like 18-1 for a Pats fan living in New York! And after what the Celtics put me through in the regular season and now in Game 7, all the while I rooted proudly for them in my green to the jeering of many Lakers fans, forgive me if I need to walk away from this franchise for a while. A good while.
Never stop believing baby~

  • Thank you Eddie!
I imagine Rondo getting that steal with 12 seconds left that he missed by an inch in the game and Sheed hitting a three at the buzzer to win the title.  That would have been absolutely legendary.
I also look at the baseball standings, and wonder how the Red Sox got within one game of 1st place (somehow having baseball's best offense) while nobody was paying attention for the past month and a half, watch Pedroia get mobbed today after a walk off hit, and think that these Sox can be really likeable.

I simply wonder how someone like Ray Allen can not hit a wide open shot for 90% of the series.

He Killed Us.

For what it's worth, i think Ray was injured. I can usually tell when Ray's shot is going in from how he jumps. His lift was way off after Artest kneed him in the thigh. His jumper never looked right after that.

Yeah that could be a very underrated story.  It very well could be a coincedence, but if it is, it's an extremely interesting coincedence that right after he banged into Artest his shot went completely in the tank.

Feel bad that we lost, but feel worse that it was to LA

Ray was hurt, but he's too classy to make that an excuse (Artest cheap shot). Perk was out for games 6 and 7 (Kobe cheap shot). That's unacceptable and shows how much love the fakers get from Stern and refs.

KG hopefully will fully recover next season, and Pierce and Rondo were showing all the banging they received through the playoffs... as anyone else at this time of the year. Baby had a concussion against Orlando, and Sheed's back has been killing him. Tony's ankle was hurt against Orlando, and Marquis got another concussion. But yeah, the Celtics are dirty  :(

The Celtics win as a team and loose as a team, I'm really sick of that many fingers pointing on Ray or Rondo or anyone else. The team is the best in the league, they lost by 4 having to overcome all this bad calls and injuries. They are warriors, and I want the 9 rotation players back, if Sheed can heal his back.

I'm also sick of seeing Celtics fans calling out other fans because they don't agree on how the refs affected the outcome of the Finals. Please, we don't have to agree, each one likes to focus in different items. In the end, we lost, it's bad enough to bear ESPN, SternTV, Chris Webber, and the rest of the laker fans demanding for praise to their greatness, even here at Celticsblog and other Celtic forums. We don't owe them nothing, I can live with being a not-so-classy fan, and the refs owned us the whole series. But if some of you, my Celtic brothers and sisters, think that I'm wrong, don't call me names (that's an example, it hasn't happened yet), I'll always defend you from that faker uruk-hais.

And I expect a great draft, Danny Ainge is going to do something special.

Living in Spain is somewhat like living in California, but at least they are saying that Pau deserved that Russell trophy, not Kobe. Bandwagoners are right sometimes.

that the coaches and players get fined for complaining about refs
