Has Thibs already taken the Chicago job??

I got to thinking. Doc has mentioned a few times that he'll sit down with Ainge and address his future this offseason. If we win there's no better time to walk out. He's on top. He can spend a few years hangin out with his kids. He can do a little TV and when he's ready he'll be the hottest coaching commodity ever.

With that said is there a chance Thibs holds out on taking the Bulls job for a chance at being the heir apparent here? For the sake of continuity. Most of this roster I expect to be back next year so I wonder if Ainge has had any talks with Thibidoux as to where his mind it at right now.

Thibs ain't coming back through that door (except to pick up his Championship ring).

Just glad they're letting him finish out the season coaching with us.  Was worried that when he got the Chicago job, he'd be gone immediately.

He has not taken the Chicago job yet (as in agree'ed to it per NBA terms) as that isnt allowed within the NBA.

He cannot officialy take the job until the finals are over but that does not stop a club like Chicago to reach a verbal agreement with Thibs outside the ruleset of the NBA.

Im quite sure Thibs to Chicago is a done deal by this point, its just a matter of the finals ending for them to ink him to a contract. (and i base that off not hearing anything from the Chicago camp regarding finding a coach, because they needed one asap going into free agency while clubs like the Clippers can wait since they are not going to be making many offseason moves)

Two things.  First, I am pretty sure Thibs has accepted the job.  I think they are waiting until after the finals are over to make the official announcement, so it does not overshadow the series at all (the league would be VERY annoyed), but from everything I read, it sounded like a done deal.

Second, I don't think Thibs was in line for the C's job.  I don't think they look at him as anymore than a "coordinator", and I also think C's current management favor big names, and would prefer a more proven coach, who is also better with the media.

I would rahter have Jeff Van Gundy than Thibs to be honnest.. he's a proven coach with a good track record, if we are not going to get Doc next season then JVG would be my 2nd pick.

I am sure he would be near the top of the list, along with McHale, Larry Brown, and my dark horse is Laurence Frank (not as big a name, but he is basically a young JVG in my opinion).
