Get rid of the cheerleaders.

Yep. We have the worst crew of cheerleaders in the league and they dance to the worst music possible. They need new talent or a new choreographer. That's what my gf says anyways and I trust her eye for cheerleader talent.

I also think the same old stuff is getting old. After about the 500th time, "welcome to the jungle" gets pretty boring and has lost its luster by being played in 99% of arenas in the league. The new intro they do before the tip isn't as good as the "lux aterna" from the championship year and doesn't have the same effect.

It also seems to me that the special little pump up the crowd clips they play in the 4th quarter are happening less and less. These are usually my favorite part of the in-game entertainment and are seemingly being dropped to show the "peanut butter jelly time" guy.

Ah man. I'm starting to sound like a bitter old fart.  ;D

Although this song has gotten a little old it does make sense that it is played at our stadium before tip off as the fleetcenter/td banknorth garden, whatever, was nicknamed "the jungle" in the 2002 (?) playoffs.

Bring back the old Boston Garden organ and play the Mexican Hat Dance. Get rid of the cheerleaders. Show hi-lights of other games on the jumbotron. Or show the NBA games.

yeah, i'm old school and miss this as well.  it was the early 90's when brown, shaw and lewis asked for the organ to be put in mothballs...  i kinda miss it.  made this franchise different from the others...but time moves on.

3 cheers for the old school {Horn Blaring with the John Kiley playing Do Di Do Di Do Di DoDiDiDiDoDoDooot. Do Di Do Di Do Di DoDiDiDiDoDoDooot. Do Di Do Di Do Di DoDiDiDiDoDoDooot}. Bring back the old Boston Garden. Bring back you as the PA announcer Andy. And bring me back to Section 1, Row A Seat 10.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

I also am tired of the Welcome to the Jungle intro and Crazy Train also. GNR was a California band. Let's have something more local.
How about J. Geils Band they were from Boston- Ain't nothing but a Party ?? or even some Aerosmith.
What about "DANNY BOY" ???

Have to say I don't like the Dropkick Murphy's song. I mean it was fine in 08 but the song is very poor. As a musician (who opened up for Black 47, another Irish band, years ago) I feel qualified to say the song is just flat out terrible except for the "whoa" part.

fwiw I also thought Departed movie stunk.

Not directly related, but anyone else notice that they now allow the music to continue once the ball is in play?  Seems like the Celtics were the last holdout, and I am very disappointed that this is now taking place.

Its 80's night, every night. Ugh.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

i'd be very happy to leave behind all the blasting rock music and the PA guy screaming at fans to cheer - or the jumbotron messages or prepared images of players juicing the crowd up - this is Boston and we are the Celtics and this is still the Garden - just not as good as the original - but still Celtic fans know when to make noise already.

go back to the organ music, normal player intros and, oh yeah, send the dancers home as well.

Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

I agree, but let's be realistic.  The NBA game "formula" is copied by every team in this league --from the loud music to annoying announcers to the dancers and lightshows.  Heck you even hear the  very same songs in different arenas.  They are fighting for the entertainment dollars of the 10-15 year-old demographic.  Of course the ticket prices have skyrocketed and that's a big reason why I don't go to games anymore.  A sad reality.
