LA Fans grasping at straws for Laker motivation with PP's in-game trash talk. Scroll down to 3-second youtube link and turn up the volume. This doesn't gaurantee a win but hopefully this means we get a big game from PP which increases our chances.  8)

Usually you get the big games from Pierce in LA, Mom's cooking and all.

^Usually Artest isn't guarding him.  I'm not worried about Pierce.  If he's having trouble scoring, he'll continue to do the little things.  But I do think he'll have a couple of big games in this series before it's over.

I think Pierce will have a big game at some point, but I hope it's not detrimental to the team, which has been the case more often than I'd like to remember.

In the CLE series, PP didn't score much because he was focusing more on defense.  It was the same thing last night only he was focused on team defense, not just one man.  There were several times where it was PP that rotated off Artest to pick up a big man and eliminate a pass for a lay-up.  In most cases, he did his rotation and got back to Artest.  This was a big part of the better overall defense.

PP will be a factor in the series but it may not be with points.  He missed some pretty open shots on Sunday which can't continue but I suspect he will get his points when they are there and that he will continue to otherwise help the team.

I have not been impressed with Artest. I think Ray Allen got hot and they kept feeding him the ball, so Pierce never got it going. No harm there. He seems capable of fouling Artest out at will.
