Perk's stats for the game : 12 points on 4/7 shooting and 4/6 from the FTt line. Doesn't sound huge but it was!

His defense was OK (not great) but I thought he was huge for us offensively. He hit a lot of his free throws (plus clutch ones), and, most importantly, hit some big buckets in crucial times, like in the 3rd quarter when we were on the verge of falling appart. He didn't fumble the ball like he usually does, he was patient and smart, and it paid off. Also, he made multiple great passes to an open teammate cutting to the basket or wide open. And his layup in the last minute to go up by 7 was key too.

So, kudos to Perk for his great offensive contribution in game 2, which is overlooked but was crucial because of his timely buckets. Not to mention his good screens to get Ray and other open.

such a good thread and point.

i started a thread a little while back wondering what has happened to perk's reliable, yet limited, offensive game.

some speculated he may be banged up. but when i was watching postgame last night, realize how little PP and KG scored, i wondered how we scored 103 points. perk definitely helped out with a more solid contribution scoring wise than what he has given us.

he was huge last night, and did hit some FTs when the game was coming down the stretch. did miss some too, but we will take 4-6 from the big fella.

Agree, this is a very good observation. I just posted about Sheed, but Perk was huge last night, especially on the offensive end.  Seems like his effort not to get another tech is maybe having the additional benefit of playing a more composed game.  See if the trend continues.
