I have to say that one of the most satisfying things about this year's playoffs has been watching the Celtics dismiss LeBron and Howard in back-to-back series -- two very talented players who have allowed themselves to become ridiculously over-exposed before actually winning anything, and who seem more interested in their own exposure than in figuring out how to be part of a winning team. Well, they've been exposed all right.
2008 in contrast was satisfying in a different, more workmanlike way: from the legitimate challenge of the youthful athleticism of the Hawks, to a proven Cavs team that has tasted the Finals the year before, to a proven ex-Champion in the Pistons. 2008 was about earning it. 2010 is about proving we're still a better team than the competition. The Lakers will be a worthy challenge in that regard; but so far, so good.
