I may be blinded by crosschecking, but unless my eyes have deceived me, the last time the champs from the previous two season met in the Finals was the Celts vs the Hawks in 1960.

Should be a doozy!

Pistons/Spurs in 2005 and Celtics Lakers in 87.

still looking for more, but nevertheless, it does seem pretty rare.

derrr...I actually thought of the Lakers/Celts in 86/87 when I was trying to think of other occasions, but as I predicted the possibility, my eyes got twisted when collating!  Not sure what my excuse was for missing the Pistons / Spurs.

But, yeh...should be a treat to see two true champion level teams square off.
