is it possible that the idea of going over the cap to get him going to come into play being that

A)Dirk wants to opt out & win a title now & being a Celtic (or laker *shudders*)guarantees you a finals opportunity
B)If we do get him a 3-peat, 4-peat or 5-peat is not far fetched because he is only 31 right now

more importantly, i wanted to know if it's possible because in my opinion the ends justifies the means, multiple titles gives more revenue based off of media coverage & countless marketing ... if i'm wrong, let know ...

on a sidenote, i think we should focus on the "summer of carmelo anthony" because he is a better scorer & shooter than lebron james. all he's missing is the defensive heart. He grew up around brooklyn, baltimore, so it's as close to home as he's going to get. I see a lot of pierce's early game in him (i.e. step back fadeaway jumper)

much thanks ..

It was Pitino who wanted him, I think that everyone would go over to get him. I think he would be a great #2 for someone.

Dirk would have to take a huge, huge pay cut to join the Celtics, as all we can offer him is approximately $5.8 million next year.  That's just not a lot of money, when he's able to make around $21 million next year if he re-signs with the Mavs.

All the negativity in this town sucks. It sucks, and it stinks, and it sucks. - Rick Pitino
