  • Rondo = Good

Might as well get it all out in one place.

Personally, I still feel like the Celtics are too good to perpetrate the biggest choke job in the history of the NBA, but I'm certainly worried.  The last couple of nights I watched the return of the regular season Celtics...and that group is capable of giving up any lead, including 3-0.

Probably the most worrying thing is that the defense has simply disappeared in the last couple games, especially tonight.

Yeah, I don't really expect it.  But still.  We have more than enough reason now for those seeds of doubt.  I don't know what I'll do if the '10 Celtics become the biggest choke-team in the history of the NBA.  Might kill NBA basketball for me for a while.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

This is bad.  It reminds me of the Yankees vs. Red Sox in 2004.  The Red Sox were the stronger, more energetic, more powerful team that year.  But, NY had a burst of good games and went up 3-0.  The Yankees had the chance to close the door -- two chances, in fact, in games 4 and 5.  That was like game 4 in this series.  After the Yankees blew those two games, the Sox were in their heads, and it just snowballed, and people started talking about how it's never happened before.  The bad thing about it from the Yankees fans perspective was, for casual onlookers and the general public, it became a David v. Goliath story.  It wasn't.  The Sox were the better team that year, they just got in an 0-3 hole.  Here, I am really dreading how much the media is going to be all over Howard afterwards, because it will be undeserved.  The Magic are the stronger team, but for 3 games, the Cs came out on top, first in two close ones, and then in a dominant game 3.  When the history is re-written, the Magic will be the scrappy little team that could, and the Celtics will be portrayed as the dominant reigning king of the hill.  It's not the reality, but that's how it will be written.  I hate Dwight Howard already, but it will be much worse after this.  I hate that everybody was all on his nuts for his "superman" dunk, where his hand didn't even touch the rim, he just got close and then threw the ball at the basket.  Pure crap.  All of us know that the Celtics are the scrappy underdog who clawed their way to even get to this point, and then took the reigning conference champs to 7 games.  But the Magic will be portrayed as the giant killers.  I hate the Magic, I will actually be cheering for the Lakers to destroy them, and I have never cheered for the Lakers ever.
Double rainbow all the way

Given the injuries that occurred tonight, and depending on how badly Sheed is hurt, I am really starting to believe that the Gods are going to intervene here and the Celtics are going to allow the Magic to make league history. I pray to God that this does not happen.

We're still winning this series, guys.  Maybe I'm a bit Polly Anna-ish, but despite the injuries, I think we're good.

This is looking more and more like the Bruins/Flyers series.
