I did forgot about shaq's decaying corpse.  The point still stands of course.  3 HOFs that actually have an impact on the game.

He is not what he used to be, but Shaq certainly had an impact at the end of game 1.

I thought that was more of what Perkins wasn't doing rather than what Shaq was doing.  He get's jumpy waiting for Shaq's corpse to finish his move and gets out of position.  If he plays him straight up and doesn't jump he'll be a nothing in this series.

I never felt Cleveland was the best team in the league and still don't obviously.  Those that did (incorrectly) don't have a good grasp of the game and don't realize match ups are much more important in the playoffs. No offense.
Care to support the position that Cleveland hasn't been the best team this year?

I'm not sure what makes you so dismissive of other's knowledge and opinions, adding "no offense" as a fig leaf doesn't change what is a pretty insulting statement.

Last year should have been clue enough to that Cleveland wasn't really the best team in the league.

Honesty can be insulting so I thought I would throw out the the ' no offense fig leaf ' as you state for those that might get offended by it.

So basically your argument is that Cleveland didn't win last year means they weren't the best team this year?

Its pretty weak to say others don't understand basketball and then refuse to make substantive arguments.

I disagree I think it was more than 'substantive'(?).  They had the best record in regular season last year (I assume that's why you think they were the best team this year) as well and that didn't turn out well.  To me it means very little how many games a 1 man team wins in January.  You probably thought this year's Cleveland team was much better than last year.  I didn't so them losing early will not be big surprise to me.

I was curious to what matchups and other factors you were referring to. I think its fair to say everyone at a basketball blog here is aware that they didn't win a title last year. Considering how much the core of their team changed I don't think that disqualifies them from being the best team this year.

What do you guys think? Do we have to win every home game to win the series? Will we be able to get another game in Cleveland if they do grab one in Boston?
Home-court doesn't matter in this series. Too teams of this quality with the experience they have + they know each other very well from past matchups. They can beat one another on either team's court.

Boston doesn't need to win all it's home games. They can win on the road.

Well most boston fans overrate other players on other teams. Like for instance I hear names like Jamison, Williams, and even Parker thrown around here like they are in KG, Pierces or Allens league.  They have the best player in the league.

Jamison is... I just don't think he is playing well, because he hasn't adjusted to the Cavs system.

Usually strolls down memory lane indicate you are remembering a good memory.

In this case you are trying to draw a parallel to something that would be negative. If that comparison holds true it will be a sprint down nightmare alley instead of a stroll down memory lane.

I agree this series isn't over. Although I would love the C's to hold home court by winning the next two games, watching this team this year has made me believe we will split these home games.

I know that is pessimistic, but if I am pessimistic and we win my expectations are exceeded. If I am optimistic and we lose it will crush me. So really it's a self defense mechanism.
