Nah, it wasn't a flagrant foul at all.

The problem isn't the foul, it's that it was not reciprocated in a second half that the Celtics played as soft as a pillow.

The officials didn't lose this game. The Celtics did.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Pierce already had too many fouls at that point.

Yea, Pierce being in foul trouble had a big effect on that play I thought. He saw Mo in the open court and sort of jogged at the beginning because he knew he had 3 fouls, seemed to reconsider and try for the clean block and missed on it because he went out of his way to avoid body contact. That play really changed the game. Mo couldn't miss after that.

Should also point out that Pierce's 3rd foul was lame. Jamison set a baseline screen that Pierce couldn't see and Pierce bumped into him and barely knocked him out of his spot and the foul was on Pierce.

PP's first foul was crap too...it should have been a no call or a charge on Lebron...

I just replied to this in a different (the wrong?) thread.  Play aggressive defense!  Drive to the basket!  If the refs are intent on fouling you out, they will...with no excuses...

If you play passively, to "not lose" (or not to foul) instead of playing to win you will lose anyway!  This does not mean to foul intentionally, unless it is in the game plan..i.e. at the end of the game to stop the clock, or hack-a-shaq, but don't be afraid of making incidental, accidental contact.
Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is a mystery.
Today is a gift...
That is why it is called the present.

Just keep playing because fixed or... well, fixed games need to be played too. I just hope Rondo doesn't get hurt because the Refs are letting him get smacked around. Everyone keeps saying we are bullies but The Celtics are the ones covered in bandages.

i don't know..but bring in sheldon and let him foul mo williams really hard....to let rondo get spilled all night and to let mo waltz down the lane was sad. i don't care...shaq even said he was going to foul rondo as hard as he could...boston needs to step up and send a message. i dont understand why guys don't foul james hard. if this were the 80's james would have been in the third row in retaliation

This lack of physicality from the refs, and not responding to Rondo getting decked with some shots of our own... it bothers me more than anything from yesterday. We need to be tougher and rougher with them.

Didn't Sheldon get into a shoving match with him in preseason? Might be the way to go. Except I'm sure he'll get ejected and suspended and we'll get even more touch fouls called on us than before.

I understand the purpose of sending a message but I'm not so sure we won't lose out in the end if we try it :-\
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Hey celticino,

We agreed last night in the thread "No Courage, No Retaliation>>>>>NO HOPE" http://forums.celticsblog.com/index.php?topic=37191.0 and agree again now. There is no way that we will win this series if we do not stand up for ourselves and meet "hard foul" with "hard foul", consequences be danged. What's that old saying,
"I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees."

Man up Celts and Celts fans and treat kind with kind.
