I know some will point  to this game and say that we can play with the cavs. But frankly,I think it is the opposite.  We played hard and well (for the most part) but came up short.  Wouldn't be surprised if the next game is a blow out.

Call me negative but I have seen this kind of thing many times before. I hope I am wrong.

It's really not that simple.

This team HAS to do certain things to stay with the Cavs - essentially the things they did in the first half: Attack the rim, make the extra pass, rebound, defend every second of every possession.

They TOTALLY backed off that in the second half, and as the time out clips illustrate, to the horror of Doc, so all the people who want to use Doc an as alibi for every single thing that goes wrong in a game can save it. You don't know what you're talking about. Same old crap. One iso after another. No defense. Even less rebounding.

Bottom line: We weren't smart enough to win game 1. We played a championship first half, and a second half that was every bit as bad as anything I saw during the regular season.

NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Cleveland richly deserved to win tonight. Period.

Of course it's not going to be simple.

The Cavs were not going to let Rondo drive on them all night so we had to go to another game plan and that was for the Big 3 to show up.

That 2nd plan failed.

Tip your hat to the Cavs and move on to Game 2.

This team did absolutely nothing well in the second half on either end of the floor.

Predictable result.

  • Thank you Eddie!
Can't win a game when you're 5 on 8.  If Lebron were anyone else, he would have fouled out.  This guy singlehandedly makes every game he is involved in unwatchable because he can do everything he wants short of carrying the ball up the court on offense and the Kermit Washington punch on defense.  He has killed the integrity of the game.

I am going with the safe bet that we will win on Monday.

The MVP award thingy will take the life out of the building right from the start of the tip off.

It should also add to fuel the C's even more along with the sting of this loss.
