It seems like every time the refs negatively affect a game for the C's, there are about 10 threads that pop up about how bad they did, and how much they hate the C's.  So I figured, we owe them this one.

This game was reffed completely in the C's favor.  Now, they weren't making the calls one way, however, they were swallowing their whistles in general, and allowing both teams to play very physical, and that hugely favors the C's.

I wanted to get this out of the way now, and let the refs (yes, you too Dick Bavetta) get a little credit.  That is how the playoffs should be called.  Let them decide it on the floor.

And we can remember this thread when the "superstar calls" start showing up in the next few games, completely ruining the rhythm, and making the games near unwatchable.  At least we got one game, where the refs did not feel the need to control everything (lets leave the KG decision for another thread...).  That is one more game than I expected.
So true. TP.

The refs, for the most part, let them play. That was more like "old style" basketball, which I like.  Did D. Wade's elbow to Ray Allen's nose even get a foul called?  I thought that the refs should have put themselves in the PP/QR/KG situation a bit more...there are times when they should break things up before real trouble erupts.  (It seems to me that often those situations are not  occurring "during" play, but on the sidelines...taunting...)
Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is a mystery.
Today is a gift...
That is why it is called the present.

  • You say when......
They were good..until that one ref ignored that whole situation, blow the whistle when that guy bodychecked PP, call reaching in, and no injury, no fight....!  It was right on that refs shoes, PP fell into the ref after he was PUSHED to the floor...that extra push "in the flow" of the foul is an old school cheap shot...one you don't forget...IF you get to see who it was....again, don't ask me how I know.....! (don't ask my dentist either!).
