No!

He'd better not leave..he has business here in Celtic Land.

I wish him the best, though, if he does leave.

Exactly what I was going to say.

Wish any of the coaches the best if they do decide to take one of these jobs.

They are more then deserving.

Sounds like a good move for Thibs. Not clear that he is ready at the pro level.

If he moves on, best of luck to him.  As said above, I'm not sure if he's head coaching material at the pro level yet, but he sure can teach defense.  Better BC than as one of our competitors' defensive coaches.

Does this really make much sense?  Thibs is gonna be working for at least another month with the playoffs rolling around.  He's not just gonna up and leave right now, right?

Also, this is a recruiting period for college basketball so you'd figure that BC would be behind the eightball on recruiting if they had to wait for Thibs to ride out the remainder of the Celtics season.

Just think this is speculation and not much more but who knows...

I don't see it. He is too close to getting an NBA head coaching job, and wants it too badly, to give up at this point.

In a few years time, if Thibs still hasn't gotten an NBA head coaching gig, then I think he considers college basketball but not before then.

BC is already way behind the 8-ball in recruiting. They have 7 scholarships opening up after this year and have yet to land a recruit. Skinner really stopped being able to land recruits when he lost his assistants Coen and Mooney (who are candidates for the job).

I agree I don't think it will happen, but it is interesting.

I think this is coming much more from the BC side than the Thibs side.  I think if Thibs wanted to be a college coach, he could probably land a better gig than the BC job.

Perhaps.  BC is a solid stepping stone school for coaches, though.  I imagine Thibs wants to be an NBA coach, though, not a college coach.  Still, if he lifted the BC program for a few years and proved his abilities as a head coach that might earn him a head NBA job somewhere.

I really doubt it happens, though.

Hope he doesn't leave. Defense is the only thing keeping the Celtics alive now.  :-\
