Another thing I thought of after that Utah games was that maybe the Celtics so so home record is on us, the fans. Did you see how rabid those Jazz fans are. We need to step it for the home games. We need to influence the home games with rabid participation! I hope the garden is so loud on wednesday that the nuggets can't hear themselves think.

I sure like the thought of that, and your right Utah's crowd and even Buck's crowd were very loud.

Hopefully tomorrow night the fans will light up the place with their loud cheering and get the C's feeding off their energy.

In this game i saw too much nate against Deron for my nerves to resist
Why not rondo? or even Tony?

Well, Deron lit Rondo up too - got him in foul trouble and generally just bullied him all night.

I agree with you though - Tony should have gotten a shot.  If anybody on our roster could have shut Deron down, it was him.

5. Ray is having a great year. Is it me, or is Ray having maybe his best all around year for the Celtics? Maybe not statistically. But, he seems much more consistent, and confident, from the 3, is more able to draw fouls where he is deadly, and is able and willing to go to the hole more. His age simple is not an issue.
I think that Ray Allen's offense has gotten steadily worse since joining the Celtics. I thought his defense peaked last season and has gotten considerably worse this season.

Overall, I think this is his worst season as a Celtic. I'm very worried about Ray's play nose-diving in the playoffs. He looks more vulnerable then ever against top defensive teams.

I worry about this myself, but what I'm seeing for the past month or so, in contrast to earlier this season (and previous seasons for that matter), I'm seeing more often than not better lift and hang time on his shot and giving his shot a bit of more arc. In this, his mid range game which has been absent for some reason (or just not as good as it should be) since joining the Celtics seems to be looking as good as I've ever seen him with the Celtics. Though still not where I'd want him to be.

Hopefully he can carry it into the playoffs, but I do worry about his performance during it certainly.

Last year he was great for us though. He was extremely efficient, and had a [dang] good Bulls series for the most part. He disappeared in Orlando, but everyone did, and he seemed quite banged up if I remember correctly with some hamstring problems.

Ray's incredible conditioning has paid off, and this season, more than either of the prior two, his inside game has really picked up a notch. His first year with us, he was pretty much an outside shooter, and had trouble finishing to the hole. His game has gotten better in this respect. (Emulation of Paul, perhaps?) Would be curious to see if his foul shot attempts per minutes played have increased this year. It seems so.  Bottom line: Ray is performing better this year for us than I realistically expected, given his age and mileage.  I think he is having a great year, all said.

It's funny because when Ray first became a Celtic, I was surprised he was finishing at the rim and driving a lot.

I expected him to be a shooter and just shoot.

82games showed Ray's inside shots were 21% in 2007-2008.

19% last year and 23% this year.

I think Ray's decline in 3 point shooting this year is forcing Ray to drive more.

Ray's shooting has become much more predictable, I have noticed. Previous seasons he often had games where he just didn't seem to be there that game. This season he's great in just about every game. I love to watch him run around while being chased by the opponent. That man has lots and lots of gas.
I wanted to mention those little tinkling bells every time the Jazz would get a basket just made me want to scream!!!! Totally icky >:(
