What bothers me most about the team is that Danny didn't recognize that we're not a legit contender and get some value for Ray's expiring contract.  Just delays the rebuild and wasted an asset.

I don't begrudge them not being able to get it done anymore.  It was expected with their ages and wear and tear.  I remember a couple of threads shortly after we got these guys about how to extend our contention way beyond now which I thought was delusional fantasy then and even more so now.

Anyway, poorly played by DA at the trade deadline.  Hoping he's not sentimental about Paul's contract next year.

I say other because Danny did a poor job of bringing in the right type players this season to come off the bench.If you wanted the team to remain a defense oriented first team,then you look for defensive minded players,that can rebound.He looked at what Sheed brought to the table with his offense first,and possibly his playoff experience second.If you say that you are going to win with defense,Sheed is not the first guy comes to mind to go after.And it goes on down the line with the others he has brought in.

I say other. What bother me most is that guys who are very talented and went through war together to get to the NBA title by playing as a team look like they never played together before. Perk, meet KG, KG, meet Perk. Everyone, meet Ray Allen, he is your SHOOTING guard.

I wish I could vote for more than one option... Offense. Coaching. Other.

Other being; Lack of passion, too many good players off the bench, no set rotation, lack of that winning edge, rebounds, intensity, the list could go on and on.

(1) Lack of team cohesion offensively

(2) Rebounding

(3) Doc -- his rotations + all bench lineups + at times his sitting KG on the bench for too long

The defense isn't an issue. They're doing as well as they can do and are still a very good-to-elite defensive squad.

The Celtics effort isn't that important to me. I think it's been very poor against some of the worse teams in the league but I think it's been good against the average or better teams.

I don't think they're losing to those squads due to effort. They're just getting outplayed.
