I'm very excited about our bench right now. I hope Doc keeps playing ten deep even in the playoffs. I think it really helps the starters to bring more energy. The bench now , with Finley and NATE is a very balanced one. That second unit needed shooting and now we've got it. We really have 12 players that can play, but Ten deep is really deep.

depth is a blessing, but I don't think it necessarily means you play 10 guys a night in the playoffs, more that you have guys who are ready given a situation

also if Doc does rest starters in the next few weeks, the depth should keep the Celtics in games

You could play 10 Guys in the playoffs. Mostly it's like an 8 or 9 man rotation, but I could see us using all ten. I'm very excited by our depth.

A bench this deep in the playoffs is all about versatility of skills coming off the bench that coaches can use in various situations

During the regular season coaching is all about developing players, chemistry, getting a winning attitude and scheme going as well as winning games

But in the playoffs coaching is ONLY about winning games and to that effect the more competent, reliable, different skills you have on your bench to call upon to use within the many different situations that happen in the playoffs

So as much as the rotation as a whole will probably be shortened down to 8 or 9 players who those 8 or 9 players will be will depend on the match up and who Doc feels will give the team the best chance to win

Also, in certain times, certain players will be on the floor who might not otherwise not make the court

Tony for defense on anyone from a PG to a SF
Shelden to grab an important rebound
Fins for shooting
Scal to guard a mobile power forward
Nate for instant offense
Quis for fast break offense or pressure defense
Baby for energy
Rasheed for a veteran presence and reliable playoff performance

The deep bench is a great tool for the coach in the playoffs and Doc probably will stick to a shortened lineup but I wouldn't be surprised to see the whole bench get used situationally
Pick 2 Knicks

PG: George Hill, Ty Lawson
SG: Ray Allen, Anthony Parker, Quentin Richardson
SF: Grant Hill, Matt Barnes, D
PF: Zach Randolph, Kenyon Martin, Jon Brockman, Dante Cunningham
C:  Nene Hilario,   Own rights: Nikola Pekovic IR: Kyle Weaver

Having a bench this deep is a two edged sword...Great to have that much talent---but sometimes guys relax and think the other guy is gonna perform....when you're short-handed, guys tend to step up.

but, I'll take this bench in the PLAYOFFS over last year's anytime:

Rasheed
Daniels
Davis
Nate
Finley
TA
Williams

WAAAYY Better than 09:

House
Mikki Moore
Marbury
Scal
TA
Powe(for like 1 game)
