The last four games we have held teams under 90 points. I think our defense overall is trending in the right direction.

On the flipside, we are 22-3 when we break 100, something we have only done 5 of the last 25 games (!!!!)

I would like to open up discussion on how to improve this team offensively whether it be general or specific.

I will go with general and say i want to see them be more aggressive getting to the foul line.

What do you all think?

I think they're lacking/scared they lost their athleticism (by they I mean Paul and KG), and that's made 2 of our gotta have it offensive option into primarily jumpshooters.

Learning to cope with that will be hard. Right now the only guy who can get to the hole is ROndo. Ray can do it twice a game, but Rondo is the only guy who can get there any time he wants to.

It's all about Rondo.  Put the ball in his hands and let him create.

Ball movement drives our offense. It usually results in either an open man off beating the opposing team's rotation (for jumper or drive) or an easy bucket underneath.  This offense thrives when they make the extra pass.  Rondo usually leads this charge through his penetrations to the hole.

When we slow things down, it stagnates and leads to these ridiculous jumpers or forced shots since the shot clock is winding down. ISOs kill us because guys just stand around.

I think more up-tempo would be of great benefit also but "pushing it" hasn't been that easy with this crew in the past year.

Well that puts a damper on my "get" to the FT line idea! I still think Pierce can do it but only if he is taking advantage of ball movement rather than driving on ISO's.

You know I cant remember the last time I saw Rondo do his best Steve Nash impression and use the dribble to dissect a defense in the half court. I know you know what I'm talking about... where he drives and dribbles through the baseline keeping his head up the whole time and either finding a cutter or looking for his own shot.

I'll look for that tonight.

Run the offense through Rondo.  When not running the offense through Rondo, run the offense through KG - he's still more than capable of creating good looks for himself and others when he's on the block.  Give Perk an iso or two a game to keep him happy, but otherwise relegate him to garbage buckets and dunks off of feeds from KG.

When the bench is in, go ahead and let Nate jack 'em up - that's what he's best at.  Tell Sheed to stay in the paint (although this isn't likely).  I'd seriously consider playing TA over Quis some.  TA had been playing great and is now getting squeezed out of the rotation because of Finley's arrival.

Also, I actually heard Donny make a good point in the postgame last night - Rondo hasn't really learned how to help guys get going yet.  If Ray's only taken three shots, he needs to find a way to get him the ball.  If KG, or Finley, or Nate or whoever is in the game with him has a hot hand, he needs to find a way to get them the ball.  There are certain shots that I can just do without unless the shotclock is running down (the Sheed 3-ball comes to mind immediately), and I think Rondo looks for Sheed on the perimeter a little too much (as an example).

Yeah getting to the foul line is good especially if your getting into the penalty early in the quater.

The best offense we could have is the pick and roll with KG. KG jumper is so solid we should be running the whole offense around it.

Secondly early in each quater we need to run about three straight plays for a Pierce postup. You need to have Rondo passing him the ball deep in the post and let him take his man. He will draw so many fouls we will be getting alot more ft opportunities.

Lots of good points in there TP!

KG should not be posting up. His knee cannot take the pounding.
I would just have him shooting open jumpers off pick and roll with Rondo/Pierce/Ray or whoever.
