I so misread the talent in the 2009 draft.  I thought it was a weak pool of talent going into the draft.

Definitely eating my words on that one.  Goes to show that you never really know.

Definitely a talented draft, just shockingly skewed towards guards.  DeJuan Blair and Taj Gibson (maybe Tyler Hansbrough if he could stay healthy) are the only decent big men I can think of from this draft, and they're probably career backups or decent starters at best.  True, Hasheem Thabeet may still develop into something solid, and Blake Griffin obviously hasn't played yet.

Still, as of right now the '09 draft seems practically devoid of decent big men, with very very few solid SFs (Casspi, Jerebko, Budinger, and maybe Austin Daye at some point).
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

Agreed.

I really hope that Blake Griffin is able to bounce back and play the way we saw him in college.  I just hope the injury didn't debilitate him too much.

I'm just hoping he doesn't become the next Greg Oden.

I'm still hoping against hope that Oden might come back and stay reasonably healthy for a while.

It sucks that, with what was our first round pick (#28, that we traded to Minnesota), we could have had:

Wayne Ellington (#28)
Toney Douglas (#29)
Jeff Pendergraph (#31)
Sam Young (#36)
DeJuan Blair (#37)
Jon Brockman (#38)
Jonas Jerebko (#39)
Marcus Thornton (#43)
Chase Budinger (#44)
Wesley Matthews (Undrafted)

Hmmm... weak draft? Even though there is a lack of big men, from the above list it seems like a strong second round.

Shoot, the draft was percieved as so weak, we could have traded up easily. So many of these guys would have filled our current needs. Oh well, that's life  :-\

Heinsights 20-20, I doubt any of those guys would've cracked the celtics rotation. Bill Walker was here a couple years and doesn't get an oppurtunity and now he's playing very well for the Knicks. All guys in the NBA can play they just need to be placed in a position to succeed. We don't need any young guys to succeed right now, it is not a big deal that we missed out on those guys.
