If I were Jackson and I knew LeBron wanted to play with me -- ;) -- I would go to the Clippers. A starting five of Baron, Gordon, LeBron, Kaman, and Griffin would be a dream to coach for many years.

and if he wanted to sign for the vet minimum, he could come to Boston - Phil Jackson could even be an assistant coach

anything is possible, not everything is probable

Does anyone in really think that the Cavs would be a part of a sign and trade where they allow LeBron to leave

While it makes sense from the point that if he is going to leave the Cavs should get something

But if Lebron can't win the team a title this year and then comes to them asking for assistance to get traded to the Lakers because he wants to play for Jackson and win a title in Laker gold and purple, I could see Danny Ferry using a lot of four letter words in telling Lebron where to go

Actually, from the outside I would think Ferry would be somewhat grateful Lebron would give him the opportunity to get somthing in return.

That Cavalier team is pitiful without Lebron, and if he leaves without a sign and trade the Cav's are left with the $5 - 8 Million under the cap to replace him. If Bron allowed them to take back a combo Artest and Odom or Bynum (or all 3), it would at least keep the Cavs a playoff contender with some hope for their fans.

Nevertheless, what a gigantic blow for that franchise and city if he leaves.

Here is Lazenby's original piece:
http://blogs.hoopshype.com/blogs/lazenby/2010/02/28/lebron-a-laker/

I read it a couple days ago and thought of posting it here, but it just seemed like such poor reporting that it didn't deserve a mention...

Okay I am going to type this but I am not going to like one second of it.

As a basketball fan, I want to see Phil Jackson coach LeBron James. There...Isaid it. Like it or not, Jackson's greatest strength as a coach is presenting challenges to great players and taking their game to new levels. LeBron needs a guy like this if he ever wants to fulfil his potential as a player and a winner. Mike Brown is the anti Phil Jackson. LeBron could be so much better. Not statistically speaking but as the centerpiece of winning basketball.

Okay, I will never open this thread again so I never have to read that post again. I need to go take a cold shower.
