Never liked Doc.  He seems incapable of coaching players "up".  He has to have his 2-3 all-stars, playing at all-star level to win consistently.  He needs a team that doesn't need much coaching.

I'm not a huge doc booster either, but can you name me the coach's that won a championship/ had a deep run without star players to coach?

I know there have been a few, but no one consistent. The NBA, more than any other league, is about talent. I don't care how good of a coach you are, at the end of the day you need talented players, X's and O's cannot level the playing field as much as they do in other sports.

You gotta look at it like this...If Doc doesn't coach next year, who takes his place? Name some coaches that could do a better job with this team than Doc Rivers? Doc is a players coach and our veterans LOVE doc. An article came out last summer saying Paul and KG didn't want to play for any other coach than Doc Rivers and for that reason alone I think Doc will stay here. I don't agree with Docs substitution patterns or his player development but he is still a good coach and a champion.

Think we can get Tommy Heinsohn out of retirement?.....

Lol...unfortunately I wasn't even born when he played, but one can imagine how he would be as a coach:

"Yeah, Perk!!! Nice Play!! Tommy Point!!"

Tommy Heinsohn won two NBA championships as coach of the Celtics.

I agree with your assessment.
Two years ago we had a big 3, still at the top of their games.  Most teams have only a big 2, so we dominated that year.
Last year we only had a big 2 in the playoffs, but I thought we still could have won it all with better coaching.

People kill him for overusing players.

People kill him for not playing Perkins/KG immediately when the Cavs attacked the interior D of Sheed/Baby.

Doc is a good, not great coach.

I do NOT agree with you on that one. Week bench and no KG. Orlando, Cleveland and LA would/did beat us.
