I didn't realize an organzation could field two entirely different teams in the same game, but Boston's proven me wrong tonight. First half: Lights-out shooting, solid defense. Second half: can't hit water falling out of a boat, sponge-like (as in porous) defense.

I'm so frustrated right now. Yeah, yeah, it's only one game, we're waiting for the playoffs, blah, blah, blah. I've tried hard to be patient with these guys. How could this happen tonight? And so quickly? I know it's the Cavs, but this isn't an isolated case of Boston running out of steam against, or getting outplayed by, a really good team. This is systemic. Pathetic. If something doesn't change, like, YESTERDAY, Boston's not even getting to the ECF.

P.S.: So much for the "post-All-Star break" progress.  >:(

The Celtics looked gassed. They're old, and Rondo shouldn't play the entire game.

Pierce coming back will help, give the C's another scorer. Too much Tony Allen and Marquis Daniels is bad. They can't shoot and the floor gets clogged.

There are a number of problems that are correctable - with better substitutions, the return of Pierce, and the slim chance that a buy out free agent can be found.

  • Rondo = Good
I knew it was going to happen at half.  You can't sustain the kind of offensive production the Celtics were having for a whole game.  They weren't going to shoot 60% for a whole game.

When this team looks really good, it's because they're making tough shots and getting open for a lot of good ones.  Then they lose because, for whatever reason, they stop making the tough shots and they stop getting each other open for the good ones.

Very frustrating indeed.

I hear what you're saying, but it seems like I've been hearing all of it all season. My question: When will ANY of it get corrected?

I think it's more on the players' mindset. Once they build a big lead, they start playing "not to lose". The aggressiveness just disappears.
