He'll average 5 minutes a game at most.

If they resign big Z, he won't even see 5 minutes a game.
Do they have room for Big Z on the roster? Could we see Powe cut in order to make room for him (a guy can dream can't he?)

Why?  I don't believe Ainge will pick him up if he does get bought out.  What we need is an athletic 3/4 that can defend and knock down the 3, not Powe.

the only thing less likely than the Cavs cutting Powe after he's just become healthy is the Celtics passing on the opportunity to sign him after he's become healthy if the Cavs were dumb enough to do it.

post scorers don't grow on trees. unless you prefer watching the short, fat infant whine and flail around down there like tucker from there's something about mary trying to reach his keys....

What makes you think his comeback from injury will go as well as KG's has?

Not interested.

I don't think he'll get a chance to play.

I agree he's not likely to play much this year -- I think he's more likely to be a part of their rotation next year.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
We could use a lil Powe right about now. it will be more strange to see Powe in a cavs jersey than it was to see Big Al in a T-Wolves one.

Powe made a big mistake signing with the Cavs. He should've gone to a crappy team and try to get playing time for 1 or 2 years.

TP for that amazing point. Leon is so sacrificing he didn't realize he can't win and/or get playing time everywhere he goes.

He may have killed his chances at a big contract by going where he has no space on the depth chart.

Poor guy. :(

Well, there is a chance the Cavs look significantly different next season, and since that is when he will actually be getting his explosiveness back, that is really all that matters.

I don't think there's much chance of it at the moment as far as PF goes. Jamison is still signed, Hickson is signed, Wild Crap is signed, Williams a restricted FA.

It'll be quite hard to move these guys around in a way that gives Powe a good shot a extensive playing time.

There's a lot of in hindsight going on here, since they certainly looked thin in the PF position during FA, but yeah I think it will end up being a mistake.

Ahh gotta love the guy for sure.  I'll be rootin for him, watching him succeed was a great feel good story.  It's hard to see a guy like this looking for big money, he's got alotta heart and seems happy to have made it.

I hope he plays and stinks up the joint.  In a perfect world the C's could have paid him whatever he wanted in spite of his injury but Danny couldn't afford to do that in todays salary cap era.  I loved Powe when he was here but he left and whined on his way to the enemy.

and you have some real serious issues....me thinks

Why because i hope he doesn't play well? I would say the people who want players on other teams to do well have the issue. Sorry if I'm a Celtic fan.

It's a shame he tore his knee up last year....really is. I would have loved a Sheed-Powe front line for the bench. Would have been a decent rebounding unit then.
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!

If Powe comes back healthy h will eat into Hickson's minutes for sure.  Brown doesn't trust Hickson yet

I think if he doesn't tear up his knee we beat Orlando.

I think Jamison isn't going anywhere, but the rest of the frontcourt could be dramatically different next season.  I could see them using Hickson as trade bait to try to replace Shaq, or bring in a legit starting SG.

Ferry is one of the most aggressive GM's in the NBA, and he is not going to sit tight this summer, if there are moves he can make.  And this isn't even mentioning if they lose Lebron.
