How can any team that took Jared Jeffries be called a winner at this year's deadline? Yuck.
Houston got Martin and a pile of crap. They gave up a rebounder and hustle guy who makes 40% of what Martin made. And Sac got out from under Martin's deal by basically exchanging that deal for the expiring Larry Hughes.
I'll say it again: no one ever gets rich trading with Geoff Petrie.
it's just about money, like everything else in the NBA is these days. why do you care if the owner of the rockets pays a guy like jeffries to get an excellent young player who fits a need and a bunch of picks? houston has been is serious need of a creater not named brooks.
i like landry too but the deal is a no brainer.
I agree sspence.
This really positions them for the next few years.
It also allows Ariza to focus solely on doing what he does best - defending and spotting up for the occasional 3 - he's no longer one of the go-to scorers on that team. They needed a offensive perimeter threat, and they definitely got one.
It's a great move for them, I wanted KevMart here - ppl like to try to devalue him, but he's a straight up shooter and scorer. And he already knows Rick Adelman's system - it will be a good fit. (Go to Sac's and Houston's SBNation blogs, you'll def get the real feel of what this trade means).
And Jordan Hill is a top 10 draft pick, unfortunately for him, he landed on the NY Knicks where no one knows a donkey from rat. Adelman is a solid coach and I think he can get the best out of him.
