How many buyers are left for Philly and Chicago?  I wonder if we are truly buyers at this point.  I kind of believe that Sacramento will hang on to Martin.

Who is our competition for the likes of what Philly and Chicago have.  Surely Houston for one.  Outside them, who else is buying in this economy?

Portland maybe...

I think we are the next team to watch though.

My question is more about Wyc's willingness to take on a contract like Jamison's or Iguodala's.

Maybe its just because I live here but I'm really intrigued to see what the Bulls do in the next few days.  To what extent, if any, they decide to restructure.

If they manage to trade both Salmons and Hinrich for only expirings, can the Bulls sign two free agents to max contracts?

The way I calculated it (using salaries on ESPN trade machine), if they renounce all their FAs, they will have (accounting for one non-lottery 1st round pick and a second-rounder) $23.2 million in salary for next year. With a cap of $55 million that means around $32 million in cap space. Is that enough for two max contracts? (How much is a max contract, by the way?)

If they can sign 2 Fas, then their roster is:

Rose/
FA (Wade?)/
Deng/Johnson
FA (Bosh?)/
Noah/

That's a championship starting lineup, no?

I'm with you. I think they're making a big mistake if they're not serious sellers.

Gotta agree here

Chicago has four great pieces in place to build around in Deng, Gibson, Noah and Rose

That's about $23 million in salary

Add about $4 million in cap holds for 12 roster spots and the Bulls will be around $27 million in salary with $26-$30 million in cap space if they trade all their contracts for expirings

They then could sign Wade and another high quality player that shouldn't be a max contract guy like Lee or Boozer and add draft picks and vet mins for a year before being allowed to use there MLE and LLE the next year for players
Pick 2 Knicks

PG: George Hill, Ty Lawson
SG: Ray Allen, Anthony Parker, Quentin Richardson
SF: Grant Hill, Matt Barnes, D
PF: Zach Randolph, Kenyon Martin, Jon Brockman, Dante Cunningham
C:  Nene Hilario,   Own rights: Nikola Pekovic IR: Kyle Weaver

I don't see how the Bulls rid themselves of Hinrich and Salmons without trading Deng too. Hinrich's a bad contract and Salmons is a very bad contract. They can find some one to take Hinrich, but he's not enticing enough to have to swallow Salmons deal too. What most surprises me is that there are reports that they are getting 1st round picks offered for Ty Thomas who is a RFA next year. I'll believe it when I see it.

if the c's could swing a deal with golden state for ellis, what else do you think we would get, as his 19 for 10 million salary would need a match?
