Yet another total collapse by the Celtics --- tonight against a barely above .500 Hornets team missing far and away their best player.

The Celtics scored a pitiful 30 second half points tonight.  KG and Pierce combined for ZERO points in the half.  The Celtic defense failed to defend the 3 point line.  The offense kept committing silly turnovers and missed 8 straight free throws at one point.

Injuries, fatigue, it's only February, (replacing the "it's only December and it's only January excuses) --- the time for excuses has run out.

This team cannot even function as an average NBA team right now.  The C's cannot manage to sustain consistent effort for 48 minutes anymore.  They cannot defend, run efficient offense, stop turning the ball over, can't rebound, can't hit free throws --- they cannot do ANYTHING well for 48 minutes any longer.

This is a team with 3 future Hall of Famers, an additional All Star, a 2 time NBA coach of the year and a Championship pedigree --- yet they cannot even protect double digit halftime leads anymore.  They don't even appear to be playing hard for long stretches of games.  They have given up runs of 25-2 and 20-3 in the past two games which is just inexcusable.

What else is there for this team?  They have to make a big trade or basically give up the season because there is NO WAY this team is magically going to turn things around.

The time for rationalizing and excuses is over, it's time to face the stark reality that the Boston Celtics are in serious trouble and there is NO positive way to look at it...

I don't know. What is there to say?

Oh, I know..

I think Ray Allen's last game as a Celtic was on Sunday.

Good day.

We need some trades. We need something. Just anything to get me thinking positive again. I don't think Zoloft could help me right about now, this team as built is seriously depressing.

It's okay guys.  You can dislike the Celtics and still love them.

That's how I feel.  I'm fed up with this team.  Disgusted.  I see other teams playing and I enjoy watching them more.  The Celtics are my team, now and always.  Can't say I like this team right now though.

I loved, cheered and followed the Celtics in 1976 when they won it all

I loved, cheered and followed the Celtics when they slowly deteriorated and then sucked in 1979

I loved, cheered and followed the Celtics from 1980-1986 when they won it all three times and went on the most amazing run in my basketball following life

I loved, cheered and followed the Celtics when they slowly deteriorated, had young stars die and sucked from 1986 through 2002

I loved, cheered and followed the Celtics through one of their most improbable years, 2002

I loved, cheered and followed the Celtics from 2002-2007 when they slowly became one of the most pathetic franchises in basketball, again

I loved, cheered and followed the Celtics in 2007-08 when they won it all again after all that time

I have loved, cheered and followed the Celtics since Banner 17 and will until Banner 18 and beyond

What's happening now isn't something I haven't seen or experienced before and it is something I will see and experience again as I love. cheer and follow my Boston Celtics

Very well said. It may seem difficult now, but very well said, my friend.

This is good stuff, and as a season ticketholder, I have been following this team for more than 40 years. We can still love them, but it doesn't change the fact right now that they have dropped from the elite teams and are just in the mix with the other also-rans.

whats so sad about it... is theve had a double digit lead almost every time... and then you just know when the second half starts theyre going to blow it... theres no reason behind it they just start playing like the worst team ever and blow it.. stupid turn overs, no communication on D... they play like a completely different team in the 2nd half... and you know its going to happen, and you want to be wrong, but then when it unfolds right before your eyes you want to ram your head through the television.

Very well said, and I agree for the most part, but for some reason this has been the least fun team to watch that I can remember. Even the team that lost all thoughs games a few yaers back was more fun to watch. They were young, rebuilding, and playing hard every game. This team is just old and slow. The ball movement that was so crisp the last two years has stopped. They are getting killed on the glass. I'm really not trying to be negitive, and I continue to watch as many games as I can, but this team is just not that much fun to watch right now. I have to admit, I sometime find myself not minding them losing because I think it might push Danny to make a trade.
