I'd rather see Pierce and KG not do anything this weekend and just rest.  They're having injury issues.  The prestige is getting invited, they have nothing to prove by playing.  The NBA All-star game is probably just slightly above the pro bowl as being the worst one.  No one watches and no one really cares to be honest.  Let them sit and watch all weekend.
Really? The NBA all star game is clearly the best all star game. Baseball is a boring joke, the Pro Bowl no one watches, and hockey doesn't know if they want it by country of origin, conference, or skipped for the Olympics.

I think you are on your own rating the NBA all star game that lowly.

I'm with guava, ever see how many celebs are in the stands for not only the All-Star game, but Saturday night's festivities too?  And do you know how many big celebrity parties there are wherever the All-Star game is?  No other sports All-Star game even comes close.  The NBA All-Star game is a very hot ticket.

I love PP, but I hope he actually practiced with the racks this time around or it will be a short run for him.

Sweet, now lets get Bill Walker in the dunk contest.

Skywalker was asked to be in the D-League dunk contest...Does that count?

not a [dang] chance, he will flop like he embarrassed himself the first time in 2002, he shoot well behind the arc, but he is too slow for this thing, he will never shoot the all 30 balls in a minute, and I'll be impressed if he make more than 10-11. These things are for the fast shooters like House, Allen, Kapono, etc.

I hope Pierce does well...he's capable of it but for him to win it will be really tough.

The 3 point contest is really for pure shooters....you not only need to shooter quick but you need to get a good rhythm and you really have to have a good eye and stroke....you shoot so fast you barely look at the rim and your release/shooting form has to be the same almost every shot...plus it's timed and you're trying to get up as many shots as possible....it's tough if you're not a pure shooter.

I agree Pierce is slow, but so was Larry Bird. Pierce and Bird are clutch shooters.

I think that alone will make up for the fact that Pierce is slow as hell. He'll drain his moneyballs and make a few other shots.

Let's hope at least...

Hot ticket or not.  The 2009 MLB All-Star game had 14.6 million viewers while the 2009 NBA all-star game had 7.62 million viewers.  Pretty sure that having twice as many viewers would make the MLB all-star game much more popular.  Also, the 2010 probowl had 12.3 million viewers.  The NBA all-star game is at the bottom.  It's boring, it might as well just be an extra day of a slam dunk contest.  At least in baseball they're still playing the game.
