I want this team for the rest of the season. If we get a different backup PG I understand but I want this years Celtics team to win it all. The way its constructed I want Ray-Ray here he is to clutch to trade away. Pierce is going to come back stronger when he comes back from his injury and with this team fully healthy we can be the best and will be the best! Tony can really make a difference with this ball club and so can Marquis. Big Baby is going to start playing better you can see his thumb is fully healthy the way he hit that turnaround jumpshot on the baseline the other night. I really really want this team to do something special and it will start when we fully are healthy! Come on Ive done it before and I am doing it again! Who IS WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!

I love Allen's clutchness, professionalism, and overall game. However, a trade needs to be made for the future of our team. If Ray were 5 yrs younger I would never consider it, but right now I feel we're overrating him a bit due to his name value and past success. In fact, a lot of people mention his shooting ability in the Chicago series as a sign that he still has it. The thing is that a lot of those came against the gimpy Gordon who seemed completely unwilling, if not able, to fight through the screens Allen was getting. That said, the same gimpy Gordon torched Allen and can basically thank that series for the contract he received from Dumars.

I would trade our role players (including TA) for the right guy (i.e., a back up PG or a big SF with range).  I would not trade Ray unless I was literally blown away.

I'm with you.  I would be willing to trade Ray, don't get me wrong...but when I tried to come up with a package of Ray for a basket of solid role players that fill all of our needs, the hole left by not having him was too big.  It would have to be the proverbial "Godfather" deal.

Observation:  "big SF with range"=Pose?  Or at least someone like him?  I agree that would make us better, but who fits the bill (besides the original Posey)?  I have trouble thinking of anyone that isn't either grossly overpaid or not on the market.

Sure there will was upsets so far, but still, I believe that we have the best roster by far if healthy, and so does everybody else
what doesn't kill you makes you stronger

At the beginning of the season I said I was ready to roll with the team we had.  In my view we had more strengths and fewer deficiencies, risks and liabilities than other teams.

It's been topsy turvy and I haven't liked some of the things I've seen out of this team.  Some of the self-inflicted problems are downright maddening.  Still I will stick with what I said at the beginning of the season.

These are our guys and I support them.  Not interested in trades and certainly not interested in rooting for someone else.  I'm still content to go with our current Celtics lineup--that is, unless someone wants to bestow a ridiculous "Pau Gasol type" trade upon us.

Yeah, I didn't outright say it but I think a Posey-type player would really help this team.  And no, I cannot think of anyone that really fits this description except Posey (Nocioni?).  Anyway, if the Celts do go this route, they might have to settle for a guy that is overpaid.  Those might be the only ones that are available anyway.
