Anyone else just got an enormous energy boost from this game? I'm really really electrified and I honestly believe we're good. Today we showed we can turn it on when it counts; we can play up to good opponents. Closing out, imo, is a detail. We'll get that part going.
Really, I'm 100% more positive about our chances now than I've been anywhere this season.
Good optimism. We are definitely good. Solid. Playoff team. Got a chance.
Just like 1988-1992.
Sorry, dude.
No problem :]
I was just very down on our team, tbh. And today, taking the Lakers to a one point game, made me happy. They *are* the better team right now. But what I saw today was in my opinion a very close game with two teams going all out.
That, was good.
It was a really great game, I enjoyed it...until the bitter, bitter end. We definitely went all-out, which I don't think I can say about all that many of our recent games. It was energizing.
You're right on when it comes to one thing: we are a really good team. There is no question about it, we make the playoffs this year, and next. Half of the teams don't do that. And we're probably in the top half of the top half of teams, at least in our conference. That's pretty good, too. There is quite a bit to enjoy.
I enjoyed watching those late Bird/McHale teams fight like heck. It was really cool that we could watch young players develop, like Shaw (traitor), Reggie Lewis, and even young Kevin Gamble and Ed Pinkney. We don't have that benefit now; the future is a complete mystery. It could just end.
So we should probably enjoy this now, and let Danny earn his money. Honestly, I don't mind not winning a title (though I strongly prefer it), but if I'm going to cheer for a team, it's going to be a team that fights like heck. The 2002 team fought for about every possession, flawed though that team was, and I cheered until I couldn't speak. I'll do it again this year, if they give me a reason to. Maybe they're starting to.
Thanks.
Yep. We were WAY more competitive with the Fakers than we were in either regular season game last year. We took control of the game at times in a way we didn't last year. We were more physical, and defended better.
Unfortunately, when Glenn didn't put TA in until there were 0:30 to go in the third (and took him out four minutes later) I knew we were going to lose. Ray just didn't have it today, and Glenn just didn't have the stones to sit a veteran who obviously didn't have it going. I was screaming at the TV for Glenn to do the right thing but as usual, it didn't happen. Ray is 1-for-10? Well that means that he's going to hit the next one! Never mind that Tony is 6-for-9 and nobody on the Lakers can guard him. Unbelievable.
