Celtics/Bulls Trade - John Salmons

Here is a trade idea to help improve the scoring of the second unit for the Celtics:

     Celtics get:
       John Salmons

     Bulls get:
       Scal, Giddens, and Williams

For the Celtics, we get a player that has the ability to score and make his own offense.  His salary is only for two years, so the Celtics aren't stuck with him for the long-term. 

For the Bulls, they get Salmons contract off the books for next year, and the three guys they are getting each have expiring contracts.  This will allow them to make a run for one of the big free agents next year.

i dont really think that John Salmons is worth giving up 3 of our players...if it really comes down to giving up 3 players we can probably get better in my opinion...i mean 3 players for 1 bench player is a bit much?

Let's be honest here, Williams and Giddens are going to occupy seats on the bench for the rest of the season.  Your basically trading Scal for Salmons.  I would make that trade in a heart beat. 

One of the major problems for the Celtics is bench scoring.  Adding Salmons will definitely help correct that issue.  He is scoring 13 pts a game, which is more than the three players combined we are giving up.  Don't forget that this opens up two roster spots to pick-up free agents, who could keep Williams' and Giddens' seats warm on the bench.

If getting rid of Salmons contract(along with Hinrich's) means being able to sign Bosh and Wade and adding them to Deng, Rose and Noah, who cares about this year, they will be the favorites to win the next 3-5 championships by a wide margin with that group

I would take Salmons or Hinrich at this point. They are both starter-type players and would allow us to sign Allen next year without the concern that he may be getting too old to play too many minutes. I like Eddie and all, but these two are easily better than him.
