I use to cringe EVERY TIME Tony touched the ball. I freaked out when I found out he was BACKUP PG!!!(then I tried it on 2k10...not too bad. He can slash and pass) But his dribbling is iffy. Most of his turnovers were either charges or him loosing the ball b/c it bounces off his foot.............

But I've been overall impressed recently with his play on both ends of the ball. I'd like to see him on the floor as a SF rather than not at all. At least then he can be out there to catch alleyoops and guard the best player.

i hope both of them get substantial minutes on the floor so that both ray and pierce can rest up. if they can both play well on the court at the same time, it allows doc to rest the starters that much more.

it looks good for a long season. for the playoffs, i expect doc to substitute based on specific matchups.

I was thinking along the same lines as you.  TA's played well enough that Doc has the option of putting in a true second unit for a short stint each half-->obviously not a 5-man substitution but one at a time to continue the (hopeful) momentum from the starters. 

Ideally Doc could use this unit to keep the starters' minutes in the low 30's for the regular season.  Quis takes the ballhandling responsibilities from House who can hopefully get back on track with his shooting once that's all he has to worry about.  TA and Quis can play solid defense on the wings.  They both drive to the hoop for offense but House, Sheed and Baby can work outside the paint.  (I prefer Sheed in the paint but we all know he doesn't live there).

In the playoffs I see very limited minutes for TA as Quisy gets the majority of the backup wing minutes as PP and Ray get much more court time.

Once Marquis is back, TA won't even be on the roster anymore, because he has a high chance of being dealt until then.

When Quis returns, who do you see getting the majority of the backup 2guard minutes? Personally id rather see Quis play the point with T Allen playing the 2 or 3 (depending on whether Paul or Ray is in) If this question was asked in the beginning of the year, Quis would be a no brainer but i beleive Tony has realy stepped up his play. He does make stupid decisions,liike jumping on every pump fake and commiting bad turn overs. But he has been someone who has finished strong around the basket and played good D for the most part. Quite frankly, I beleive he has outplayed Eddie who has provided nothing at all this year on either end. So why not use both of them? 

Marquis is a smart basketball player and Tony Allen is not.

Marquis is always in control while Tony is more-often-than-not OUT OF CONTROL.

Marquis rarely turns the ball over while Tony often turns the ball over.

Both are mediocre FT shooters.

Marquis is long while Tony is (relatively) short.

We all feel comfortable when Marquis is bringing the ball up the court while nobody feels safe with Tony bringing the ball up the court.

Marquis is a true triple-thread while Tony is very one-dimensional.

good for tony that he's played pretty well but this is an EASY one. tony goes back to the bench.what we are seeing is bizzaro tony where he plays well. the real tony will be back when we need him..unfortunately.

I actually felt daniels was our best sub (BEST) before the injury.  He makes eddie a better shooter, can bring ball up and was consistent.  Maybe he would have a game without great box score but he does so much in terms of team game.  'Sheed also plays this way but would be great and then lethargic.
