I'd pull the trigger on this one in a heart beat. Similar to a trade I posted earlier, just a little better I think.
CB Draft - New York Knicks
PG: George Hill / Nate Robinson
SG: Dwyane Wade / Gerald Henderson / Christian Eyenga
SF:  Grant Hill / Paul George / Earl Clark
PF:  Kenyon Martin / Jordan Hill / (Earl Clark)
C:   Greg Oden / Kurt Thomas / Hilton Armstong

You wanna explain me to why we'd suddenly completely rebuild our team mid-season?  Or why anybody would take on KG and his contract when his knee health is uncertain?
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

Dude you need to chill lol. I just posted this for fun because I was bored, I never would expect this to happen, I just said that if the possibility were to arise I'd do it. But as far as why we'd rebuild? Well Christ, Chris Paul, Jamison and Butler plus Foye? Who cares about winning a banner this year, we'd be practically set for the next 5-8 years (given we can resign when needed and all of that other good GM stuff)

Our current team would kick the snot out of our new team. And you realize Jamison and KG are the same age, right? In fact Butler turns 30 this season.

By the way, this thread should win an award for being the most aptly named.

You guys seriously take things way too seriously. Yes, I realize they're the same age but Jamison is actually healthy and he adds a consistent 3-point shot. 30 still gives us a larger window than 34. Kick the snot out of the new team? Please, your blind loyalty is making you oblivious to the fact that the new team is stacked.

No, you seem to ignore the fact that this team wins as much because of defense as offense, and your team is only stacked on one end of the court. Unless you think Jamison plays defense close to that of a healthy KG you're not extending our window, you're closing it.

We're not getting 5-8 more years out of Jamison and we're not getting 5-8 more years out of Butler. My "blind loyalty" tells me that a 41 year old Jamison and a 37 year old Butler won't be able to lead us to a winning record.

If you are going to do that, can we at least cut out DC?

I would rather the starting lineup of Paul, Ray, Pierce, West and Perk vs. Paul, Butler, Pierce, Jamison and Perk (along with Foye off the bench where he seem to struggle and a big trade exception)

To me, West (PF) > Butler (SF) going forward.

and Ray > Jamison as the role playing vet.

I would definitely do that trade if it was available.  Paul and KG (in his prime) are the same type of star you build teams around.  And, the Celtics would still be favorites to win a title.  Paul (and West) would benefit playing with Pierce and Ray who know what it takes as a star to win a title.

New Orleans is definitely in some salary h*ll right now and next year.  They owe $33,270,000 to Stojo, Peterson, Songalia, and old friend Posey (pun intended).  Okafor is another $11,540,000 next year ($44,813,000).  This is going to be tough to get out from under.  West and Paul are a couple they can build around at reasonable $$.  I am not sure what they can do but this trade sure wouldn't help.

I could see them trading West and say Stojo for an expiring (like Ray Allen) just to get out from under at least one of the bad contracts but this is not something that the Celtics are going to go for.  Hornets are just in bad shape and I don't see a way out for them.  I get what the OP is trying to do but this specific deal just doesn't get there.
