According to RealGM, via Yahoo! Sports:

Kings send a conditional 2nd rounder, and receive cash in addition to Armstrong.

Well, I guess it's nice to know that a couple million dollars is still actually an amount to care about saving.

Very good trade for New Orleans. Armstrong is dead weight who only makes his team worse. Better to save some money.

I think the Kings could have gotten more. Either a second round pick, a superior player/prospect than Hilton Armstrong, or someone with a smaller contract so they could make a larger profit on the transaction. Sacramento gets very little out of this trade.

Not a terrible contract when you consider they are paying Nocioni almost $7 million for the next 3 years and Garcia $6 million for the next 4. :o

At least they finally can get Abdur-Rahim and Kenny Thomas off the books after this year. $14 million worth of garbage. Reminds me of paying Vin Baker all those years.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

NO is now less than $550,000 away from the luxury tax line.

I think the Hornets' motivation to dump contracts now eases considerably. Finding a taker for a minimum level contract should just about do it.

One can only hope this can help quell those pernicious Posey-to-Boston trade threads that seem to pop up on a weekly basis.
