Tim Legler talks about how the celtics are winning but are still underrated, he said that the C's are not a sexy team because we don't have a player like lebron or kobe. but he sais that we are an example of how a team should play and win.

Yeah, I really like that article.  It's very true.  We're consistently underrated and not given much attention even when we're playing championship caliber basketball.  I agree that it's because we lack one young hot star to put up video game numbers each night...we also play a slow paced, physical game that results in few highlight plays.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

I don't think it's so much that we're underrated as just unnoticed.  Kobe and LeBron get the hype, highlights, and commercials, and we just keep chugging along in the background making plays and winning games.  We've always been considered an elite contender, we just don't dominate the coverage.

But it's good to see Legler say this, he's had our backs for a long time (remember he was the 1 out of 10 ESPN "experts" who picked us against the Lakers in 08).

only outrage should be by D-howard against stan for letting his team shoot 35  :o :o three's on a night where the biggest low post player on the opposing team was carlos boozer and howard got 9 touches. total.

That's why i don't by into the "stan's a great coach!" argument. say what you will about doc, and i'll be the first to agree that he is not the world's best X's and O's coach, but somehow i think if he had a monster advantage like the magic had in the low post last night, he'd reign his team in and go to it more than 9 times.

Carter shot 13 Three's last night! 13!

hope the magic continue to not get the ball to the low post and play outside in, love to build up a cushion over them in the L column.

TNT side note: loved charles last night

Charles: "barring injury, the magic and celtics series is going to be great in the ECF."

Kenny: "what about the CAvs?!?! and Atlanta?!?"

Charles: "you serious? how you gonna bring two poodles  up when im talking about rottweilers. the cavs and hawks are like my poodles yahoo and fancy... pretty to look at and fun to play with, but not the dogs you want gaurding your house...

the magic and celtics are the only two real teams in the east right now, and the cavs aint gonna get any better as long as their offense is "pass the ball to lebron and pray" in the fourth quarter."

In all fairness to Van Gundy the Jazz struggle a lot to defend the 3 point line and yesterday they gambled on stopping the Magic's inside game. The Magic lost the game also because they were missing wide open looks, but mostly because they weren't taking care of the ball and, the primary cause, due to their inability to defend and to protect their defensive glass (in fact, Orlando an above average offensive game).

I've learned one thing this season, The Big3 has help. We have options. One or two of the big3 could have a bad night,  and we still find ways to win. Key injuries on the bench, and we still find ways to win.

I want to see the finished product. Get everyone healthy and play ball.

No More injuries, Not a Jinx.

I think our defense is over-rated still.  Too inconsistent.

i don't think they are overrated. they are inconsistent sometimes. don't forget, this is the NBA, and players can make shots even if they are difficult, sometimes they get hot.

the D also buckles down when they need to, i honestly cant expect the team to play all out D every possession every game.

The fact that they don't have an alpha per se such as a Lebron, Kobe, or Dwayne Wade does let them fly under the radar a bit, however, you can bet that everyone in the NBA knows how good this team is.  No coach or team is sleeping on the Celtics.

The NBA is a star-driven league so the teams with the alpha dogs will tend to get the most spotlight.  That's fine with me.

Players and coaches in the NBA know how good this team is, but underrated designation (probably well deserved) is from the fan perspective.

Legler keys in on why I love this team so much - they just play ball. Sure, KG gets fired up on the court and Sheed runs his mouth off into lots of T's, but these guys are pretty quiet, humble and respectful off the court. They just let their play do the talking. I love that.

The only thing left out in that article is how Perk has improved to near all star level as well as Rondo.

There's not one mention of any Celtic in the race to MVP on nba.com, which I find pretty hard to believe when players like tyreke evans have managed to crack the top ten when their teams are below .500. Shouldn't Garnett at least get a place on that list? He just got voted player of the week!
